Shame about June's Trek books - other than the Captain Proton one they've all been in the monthly deals before. On the other hand, it gives me hope that the Typhon Pact series might come around again!

The Last Best Hope is a terrific prelude to Picard, so I can highly recommend that one.

I read it recently. It wasn't my favourite of his, but it was ok.

It's a bit of a curio as it was marketed as mainstream here in the UK; an Iain Banks book rather than an Iain M Banks.

Thanks! I had picked up the first seven titles in October of 2020 when they were either on sale of free, but I didn't have the eighth or ninth in the series.

This is the Cradle series, by Will Wight, in case anybody else needs to use a different store. The first book is Unsouled, which I have read and enjoyed.

They seem to go free quite regularly - often when there's a new book about to come out - so I'd say there's no great rush.
