How do you turn pages? How does the reader know whether you are trying to turn the page or trying to write a note? Are there separate reading and writing modes? Or must you use one of the buttons on the stylus?

Generally devices with stylus support built in can tell the difference between the stylus and a finger touch. Use the stylus and it will write, use a finger and it will turn the page.

But I use a stylus to turn pages on my Forma, especially if I am reading and eating at the same time. I hate fingerprints on my screen. If I have to use my finger to turn pages, this is a no go for me.

Sometimes I do use the buttons, but I find a tap with the stylus is easier and faster. I don't usually hold the Forma in my hands but use a stand instead. That means if I want to press a button, I have to support the Forma's back so I don't knock over the stand.

It's 499$ in Canadaland. I wonder why you have to purchase all the package though; I don't think I'll ever use the pen (got one with my Surface and used it less than 10 times in 5 years) and I got the official cover for the KA1 and it falling to pieces after 3 years.
Oh well, let's wait for reviews... |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobo_e...gical_Overview it looks like they sometimes release multiple devices in any given year: - Kobo eReader and Kobo WiFi N289 in May and October 2010 - Kobo Glo N613 and Kobo Mini N705 in September 2012 - Kobo Aura HD N204B and Kobo Aura N514 in April and August 2013 - Kobo Glo HD N437 and Kobo Touch 2.0 N587 in May and September 2015 - Kobo Aura Edition 2 N236 and Kobo Aura One N709 in September 2016 - Kobo Clara HDN249 and Kobo Forma N782 in June and October 2018. The problem is they don't always do that. So, I don't know if I should/can wait another 4 or 5 months to see if they do that this time. My active Kindle's battery now loses about 20% each day and the old one I use to download books just lost its entire charge in one day. Last edited by enuddleyarbl; 05-20-2021 at 01:06 PM. |

Kobo might have less features, but their software works and generally they support their devices for a decent amount of time, even if parts availability is probably just as limited. |

Having both 300DPI & 227DPI devices I can tell you the difference isn't that noticeable for me. Best try before you commit to be sure, but 227DPI is fine for me.
