It seems certain this is not a Forma replacement, obviously, but if the launch and promotion of this not-for-me device leads to a reduction in the price of the Forma, I might be tempted to step up from 7 to 8 inches.

It's being reported (by The Verge and others) that the cost with the cover and stylus bundle will be $399.99 - it got a little bit more tempting for me.

Not that I'm in the market for a new device, just wanted you to take note of the weight of this device: about double that of the Forma or Libra H2O.

Yes it is heavy, but for the equivalent size, it would be 161 g while the Clara weighs 166 g. Of course this is not a device to use on the go. And if the cover is included in the weight the difference is less.

What is a problem for me is the 227 dpi. I'm looking for an e-ink device to read my PDFs but I doubt that going up from 8" to 10,3" would make it easier on my eyes since I would be going down from 300 dpi to 227 dpi. Some of my PDFs are poor quality.

I'm going to wait for the real new Forma (or whatever it may be called). I have no urgent need for a new ereader for a while yet.

I don't think I've ever had an "urgent need for a new ereader" but if there is a promotional special, then perhaps gifting my wife my not-at-all-old Libra could be the tissue thin excuse for an upgrade.
