But the question then is - how fully can you trust web sites?

In Taiwan, wearing a mask, before the 2002 SARS outbreak, marked one as a bit odd. Mask wearing, by the cool kids, as simple politeness to avoid spreading your cold is, I think, less than 20 years old.

Just back from my 2nd dosage of Pfizer. Wife had her 2nd Moderna yesterday.

She had no issues getting hers; she is volunteering at a vaccination clinic and was asked on arrival yesterday if she wanted the 2nd dose.

Mine was a tad more challenging. Our CEO informed all staff at the Health Care agency I work at that we were eligible, and that we could either pre-book or walk-in to one of two locations depending on which mRNA vaccine we needed. I went for a walk-in after work yesterday only to be refused and told to wait till my originally scheduled date of June 21st. Speaking with the CEO and her contacts got that issue resolved and all staff recommended to pre-book. Even with the pre-booking staff had to double / triple check!

That sounds like a paperwork snafu? or something? If this is your second dose, then June 21 is way too late!

Due to limited vaccine supplies, Canada went from 4 weeks between the first and second dose to 4 months. With supply improvements, the gap is being shortened.

Exactly; the priority in Canada was to maximize the number of people with A dose of vaccine. My initial date for the second dose was Easter Monday, April 5th. That was cancelled and several weeks later rescheduled to June 21st.

There is no high quality research on what interval is best. But here is the little bit there is now:

When the U.S. government went along with the tested 3-4 week intervals, there was no scientific evidence as to what interval was best. All that was known was that the test intervals, despite being shorter than what was best with most other vaccines, worked. The vaccines commonly given in the United States were tested with short intervals because lots of people were dying, so it was important to finish testing, of vaccines likely to work, quickly.

A large sample test of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, giving half the current single-dose-shot two times, at a 57 day interval, is ongoing.

So telling people to protect themselves and others from Covid-19 doesn't work but telling them they might become an instant millionaire does work.

Got my first microchip today. Definitely feel altered.

When I went for my 2nd shot the man ahead of me was joking about how he got "the one with the tracker"

Classic "regret lottery". They tend to work by the way. And as someone living in the state (that's lagging behind others at less than 40% fully vaccinated), I don't really care what motivates more people to get vaccinated. I only care that it's getting more people to roll up their sleeves.

New cases are still on the rise in the three Ohio counties near me. One of those counties (the one I live in) has the 4th highest new case rate in the state.

They're also having full scholarship lotteries for the under 18 crowd who are vaccinated.
