While the actual device has no buttons, it is interesting to note that the stylus has two. Maybe you can use it to flip pages? Of course, kinda weird if you also hold the eReader.

Kinda sad Kobo didn't release this a year or so earlier. Already have a remarkable, and not really interested in something expensive that would mostly just do the same work. And for actual reading, I don't feel the need to take many notes. Just highlight a line or two from time to time, and a pen is overkill for that.

2 buttons have the Chuwi Pen (Microsoft compatible) - one as a left mouse button, the second for eraser.
So, from the looks of it, no Wacom screen - but that's just speculation.

Lots and lots of Wacom pens have 2 buttons. Most of the old PC pen tablets of yore like the ThinkPad X200T, HPs whose names escape me and the first two Microsoft Surface Pros used Wacom Pens with 2 buttons. Plus also like every stand alone Wacom drawing tablet. Usually on those one button was left click and the other right click with the eraser on top.

The Wacom EInk Tablet Pen only have one button if any, the one as an eraser - they also don't have a power source which required a button as a left mouse button.
However, as long as you don't know the pen, any statement about it is pure speculation.

Yes of course it's speculation but it's NOT speculation that Wacom pens can have two buttons. There is nothing different about the Wacom EMR digitizer in an eInk panel or an LCD one. That's why you can use pens from the Galaxy Note series, the original Surface Pro or whatever on the Note Air. And several of them have two buttons, and no they don't require power either. I personally used a Fujitsu T5000 pen with two side buttons and a top eraser with my Wacom EMR Windows tablet for years. It has no battery and was never charged. One button was left click, the other right click and the top was the eraser. You could also map them. I think 2 buttons might not be supported in Android but Kobo's OS is Kobo's and if they want 2 buttons it should be no problem.

So is that why the device has bluetooth? To communicate with the stylus?

No probably not. It probably just has Bluetooth because it's more expensive to buy a SoC without Bluetooth than one with it these days.

But if BT is not used, then it shouldn't have to be advertised.

It will probably support audiobooks like the other models...

Even if it's not used they still have to report it to the FCC.

Yeah, but (for some reason) that's not how it usually works out. For some reason the dollar amount is close to the same as the pound amount. Which means the English pay more (sometimes quite a bit more) than we do in the U.S.

Did I win ? Is the price is a new Kobo ?

Edit: as for guessing the price, I bet for 499$ USD, without pen and cover. 599$ USD for the all kit. I would prefer those prices in CDN but I'm kidding myself.

Double edit: is there any 10" reader out there that are enough popular to ask someone to try something for me? Thanks!

In the UK we seem to pay in GBP almost what you guys pay in USD so £500/£550 wouldn't surprise me, and it's only gotten worse since brexit.

Not for me, looks like a nice device though, the notepad app-thingy looked cool.

Very disappointed...it appears the Elipsis totally misses its ebook reader audience, including me.

I was really hopeful for something to replace my KA1. Hopefully, even with my declining battery I can nurse my KA1 along for some time to come.
