Didn't we expect questions, and only questions?

Can one truly be said to be questioning everything, if statements are including in a posting?

Couldn't a statement strengthen a question, like Popeye and spinach (although that is actually a misconception)?

Could Popeye still become a great sailor if he didn't eat spinach?

Didn't Popeye once advertise oatmeal until the Quaker Oats people objected?

Am I incorrect in remembering those ads with Popeye were Quaker Oats ads? Am I wrong in remembering that it was the Quakers ( Religious Society of Friends ) who objected to Popeye and his near continuous fighting?

Weren't they wrong about Popeye near continually fighting? In most cartoons wasn't Popeye the one who didn't initiate the fighting and would only fight when pushed to it?

I never saw the non-animated version of Popeye but from what I remember, the animated version was much more willing to fight than to try to defuse a situation by other means. None of this turn the other cheek nonsense.

Get into fight, is getting the crap kicked out of him, rips open a can of spinach, kicks the crap out of his opponent.

Rinse and repeat.

Wasn't it usual in the animated version of Popeye that he would take a lot of abuse before being pushed to fight (much like in the scene that I posted)? As an example, in one cartoon didn't Bluto embarrass Popeye by forcing him into samba dancing (which Popeye couldn't do, he could barely dance at all)? Didn't Popeye take some spinach and become the greatest samba dancer while also beating Bluto senseless?

Did anyone not expect that ending? Did Popeve ever show any ability to walk away from a conflict? Or is this like expecting the Wiley Coyote to learn from experience to leave the Road Runner alone?
