If you have any influence on the matter I suggest you use it to get Alfred Cardiology to get the system that sends their reminders altered to put the "Please confirm…" text is at the top of the message rather than below date and time of appointment - like the reminder the Sydney Theatre Company sent me yesterday and RPA pacemaker clinic sent a month ago. |

I'm sitting in my living room writing this in my hoodie. My wife, who just woke up, said, "I thought it was supposed to be warm today."

At one point I had like 7000 DOGE. I think I sold them around 1c/DOGE. It's now over 30c/DOGE.
Got a free share of GME about a year ago when I joined Robinhood, sold it around $15. I have the worst luck, don't I? |

My doctor's office communication issue is that even if I list my cell phone as the primary phone number on their registration forms, they'll still call my backup home landline number during the day when I'm at work, so I have to call them back another day. |

When 'they' rolled out the so-called high-speed broadband network 'they' used the existing cable TV infrastructure that is strung up on the power poles, see ==>> Hybrid fibre-coax. Because I didn't have (nor want) cable TV, and because my twisted pair line wasn't the 'primary' line, 'they' wanted $400 to lay 20 metres of coax to replace it. And 'they' wanted to replace my diminutive multi-function ADSL network appliance with two ugly boxes, one of which had an RJ12 phone socket. So, I switched to mobile broadband, at least I can take it with me if I relocate. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 04-20-2021 at 01:59 AM. |

https://www.amazon.com/VS112-2-Bluet...8920464&sr=8-3 I tried one, but the audio quality was rather poor; I would hope the audio quality would be better now. |

We maintain our landline by having ported the number to Google Voice and using an OBi adapter for use with our regular phones. |

If 'they' had stuck to the plan - FTTH - I probably wouldn't have objected to the cost, but handing over $400 for 20 metres of coax to connect to Murdoch's lousy poles and wires cable tv network was a step too far. When I want to call someone I put my hearing aids in and a BT transceiver-microphone around my neck which is paired to the phone, which overcomes one problem. But I have another problem with 'smart' cell phones - touch screens, especially 'soft' keyboard/pads, Hand injuries exacerbated by worsening peripheral neuropathy and arthritis means I have limited sense of touch and impaired motor control. Maybe a BT keyboard that can connect to a cell phone, when I'm at home, would be better for me. Providing it could co-exist with the hearing aid gadget. It would also mean I could more easily respond to SMS messages. I only carry my cell phone if I'm going some place where I need to QR code check in, or I'm meeting someone - so they can call me if they're delayed and vice-versa. Some cordless phones can route land line calls to a cell phone - I wonder if any can be connected to take cell calls on the cordless? I always figured if I ever ditch my land line it would be nice to have set of connected cordless handsets scattered around...
