Looks like the UK is starting to get it so I've rebooted my oasis and paperwhite several times this morning; no joy. Both are ad-free. I'll try again this evening, tomorrow morning, and so on. Not holding my breath though - 2 months later and I'm still waiting for the series view option to show up on both devices. Doesn't matter how many times I reboot them, or whether the wifi is on or off, it stubbornly refuses to show. Both kept at the latest firmware the entire time. I don't know what else to try to encourage them to fetch the setting. When I got my first kindle nearly a decade ago there were two features which I wished for: cover art on the lockscreen, and automatic grouping of series. So if my devices will agree to co-operate I'll be a happy soul. |

I live in Greece and yesterday I got the feature. Sadly the book cover does not appear for books that I have sent to my paperwhite through email or thorough send to kindle. It only works for books purchased by Amazon or with sideloaded ones.

I know of no other Reader brand that makes you wait for new features in the firmware to be activated and you have to jump through hoops to get these new features to actually be activated. What a stupid business model.

Agreed it's nonsensical. Even kindle users in the U.S. are getting the feature haphazardly. Not even a region by region rollout it's just random

I have the cover feature enabled but it does not work with my sideloaded Kobo books converted from epubs. Too bad Amazon cannot get it right. Kobo wins. Again.

It also doesn't work with sideloaded, converted Kobo books.

Others have reported success with side loaded books. I suspect the metadata may influence whether it works or not. I am still waiting for the feature on my Kindle. I plan to do some testing to see exactly what is required to make it function. |

As reported, it doesn't work with sideloaded mobi, and works fine with sideloaded kfx converted with calibre "kfx output" plugin.

It works with sideloaded .mobi books. I purchased the book in my image on page 2 from the Kobo store, and converted it to .mobi.

UK user here, feature still not appearing on my Oasis 2. It is rather strange the way they roll out the updates in such a piecemeal fashion. I'm not sure I'd call it illogical... they probably have some reason for doing it, though it does cause frustration for people who are eagerly awaiting something from an update. I'm not sure if I'll even use this feature. I don't usually appreciate the book covers showing as screensavers on my Kobo devices, because they often appear skewed and not pretty. I would be more excited by fully custom screensaver images. Also, my Oasis stays in a sleep-cover, as do all my e-readers, so the whole thing is a bit trivial in my case. Here's a feature I really would be excited about: the ability to open the dictionary from inside a book, as you can with Kobo devices. Presently, to do this on a Kindle you have to look up a word and then open the dictionary from a menu. This is just inelegant, but also means you get loads of unintended words being added to your word-wise that you have to manually delete. |

I cannot see what the reason is. I've never heard of or seen any other Reader besides Amazon who holds back new features and rolls them out in such a haphazard fashion. And now they are making people pay to get the cover as sleep screen feature.

Thread in Kindle subreddit says kindle now has cover as screensaver option

Here's how bizarre the roll out is. We bought our daughters the latest kindle Paperwhite last Christmas, both purchased on the same day, right from Amazon Canada website. I updated both Paperwhites yesterday. One got the feature, the other didn't.
