Hi!

My gf just connected my KOA2 to wifi after more than one year. It was to download some books sent via kindle app, and now I have 5.13.4 version.
Previously it was not jb…

I’ve lost the ability to jb it? (As seen on op, it said 5.9.0.6 version, which is somehow very low…)

hello everyone, I have pw3 with 5.12.4, I tried to run the guide inserted the jailbreak files inside the kindle root and started the jailbreak. On reboot I connected the kindle and opened the kindlereport and it came out this:
Loaded logging functions
Removed existing developer key
Created developer key (0)
Updated permissions for developer key
Enabled developer flag
Finished installing jailbreak, restarting ...


as per guide installed update hotfix and finally inserted kual in the documents folder ... but unfortunately kual does not appear in my library, how can I do?

You need place the Update_KUALBooklet_44a61b6_install.bin file inside the mrpackages folder found in your USB MS root, not documents.

Once placed, disconnect from USB then tap the search bar and type in ;log mrpi

Wait for your device to boot.

hi thank you, i resolve put the kual install bin in the root and i restart and i find kual on my libraries. thanks a lot...for ota update i install a tool content in section for disable it. thise rename the ota update file, but i doon' t know if is a right choice. for my usage i use jaiolbreak for start alpine linux to load my home assistant server . i always connected to wifi

Install koreader is my first thing to do. Latest koreader work perfectly on my two devices. Don’t have to use kobo any more. Yeah~~~

I have KOA3 with 5.12.4. I see that with this version I can’t block updates.
My question is. Before the jailbreak should I try to update to another version within the jailbreak range that can block updates?

You can't downgrade a (vanilla) Kindle, so, that kind of answers the question.

It's technically feasible on a jailbroken device, but it's *really* not for the faint of heart.

(The thread was linked to recently by @hius07 in the KindleBreak thread, IIRC).

Hi,
I have just successfully jailbroken my KT3. I was wondering if I could update the kindle now as I have the JB Hotfix installed or do I have to keep it in aeroplane mode?

After running jailbreak only on PW2 fw 5.12.2.1.1, I have a permanent new item on the main page, called "Kindle Feedback". I have read that it is related to "PRE_GM_DEBUGGING_FEATURES_ENABLED__REMOVE_AT_ GMC" file in the kindle root directory, but I did not create it myself and I would like to delete that item from the front page. So, what am I supposed to do? Thanks

Edit: on 4PDA there is a Disabledwgrd.zip KUAL script which should fix this, but I don't have an account there to download it. Maybe someone can post it here, or suggest a different fix.

I have that too! Also on a recently jailbroken PW2 - and when I click on it, nothing happens.

That's perfectly normal, it's a side-effect of something necessary for the JB to behave on FW >= 5.12.x.
