If anybody has a device/firmware combo that's untested and would like to help me with getting this out as soon as possible, PM me with your Kindle's details! Please don't PM me for this if your device and version has already been tested!

The list of tested/untested devices is in the post on the bottom of the 4th page. I can work with both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices.
I can assure everybody that there are 0 risks involved, no chance of bricking or anything of the sort!

Can officially say this has successfully worked on my PW3 running 5.12.2, and it's surprisingly easy

I downloaded the same firmware update, put it in my usb-root and the "Update your Kindle" button is grayed out. Is that caused by the lack of ota binaries, or something unrelated?

Also, as somebody who never updated their kindle, I'm not sure if automatic updates use the same binaries as the manual one. Can you confirm this for me?

I tried with 5.12.5, still grayed out. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

This is the version I've downloaded and put in my USB Root:

I also just checked my device version to confirm, yes it's still 5.12.4.

Yep, it's KOA3 update.
For sure, try to restore ota binaries (with the same KUAL extension) and look at the UYK button if it is black.

Final check: block ota, put 5.12.4 to the usb-root and reboot. There must be an update error.
