I might have missed it but .. why can I no longer see which book/s is/are added to the default reading list?
I remember that previously you added a book and it was marked on the very left as long as it was part of the default RL (no idea about other lists because I almost never used another than the default).

Now, this marker is there but only when I go to the RL itself and with all due respect why do I need a marker there? Doesn't make much sense.

So, how is this set now? If it has been removed how do you handle it?

Marks are transient and a feature outside of reading list that it uses.

When you view a reading list, it sets a mark for books in the list and then sets a search for that mark. Other things can set other marks and clear marks, so the marks are unreliable except right after viewing a reading list.

But there used to be a mark when a book had been added to RL. If it was/is not add-on specific it must have been part of the main calibre software?

I guess I should ask in the main calibre boards then since it has nothing to do with the plugin nor is there a way the plugin can do it.

This has nothing to do with reading lists as such, but if you set Mark newly added books then… viz:



Then show and select all marked books and add them to the default reading list. For me that would be Ctrl+Shift+M and Ctrl+Shift+R - but they maybe custom shortcuts.

The Marks will disappear if you clear them, exit calibre or switch libraries.

I think I'm in the right place...

I am looking for a Calibre plugin that will automatically add/merge any changes to my library (updated cover art/metadata, entirely new books, etc.) on my Kindle when I plug it in.

How would I configure Reading List to do this?

Is their anyway to get it to ignore my custom dictionary, well besides adding it to the list, but then won't it try add it again and not in the correct directory.

I think so. To me, those options are a workaround for putting the a reading list order somewhere that can be seen in other parts of the calibre interface. You can sort or search on that column.

The other thing is that the series column is updated when you add or remove the book from the list. For a clear-on-sync list, the book is removed from the list when it is queued to be sent. And that removes the book from that series. That means that when the book is actually sent, the series info will always be empty.

That makes sense. I just have it add a tag to #kobocoll instead (since it clears out on sync, KoboTouchExtended never gets a chance to make the collection on device) for column icon purposes.

Is there a way to export the Reading List, say to CSV? I'm trying to keep my TBR at The StoryGraph in sync with my Calibre Reading List, having a CSV or similar list to work from would be big help.

Use "View reading list," then select the books and use "Create Catalog."
