It's not just the SD card, it's also USB-OTG, where Boox devices can only handle standard Fat32, while Likebook devices can also cope with NTFS, for example - I've already used a 4 TB Seagate hard disk on my Alita, which is impossible with Boox.

Yeah, im really leaning Alita at the moment.
Just wish the OS on Alita had as high reviews for usefulness and stability as Boox

Android is Android.
Boox works with version 10, Likebook with 8.1 - thats the difference!

I know but the replies I get back have mainly been - Boox software is solid out of the box, Likebook not so much, tweaks, issues, or some people avoid the included software and find outside apps for Likebook.

That's what I meant.

(saw your reply about the LB Mars... basically Mars or Ares are small Alitas I think, but I fear the 8" screen might be too small if I'm considering this a daily writer/typer.)

But you can't use it for what you want to do.

You will have to do the same at Boox - Boox does not deliver what you need for your purpose.
Therefore - Android is Android - the rest is software that you have to install separately.

No - Mars is without Wacom.
But has the same number of pixels as Alita, 1872 x 1404 - 300 dpi.
But costs half.

The plastic layer in a Mobius display is the substrate, i.e. behind the display. No light passes through it and there is no way for it have an effect on screen contrast or brightness since the eInk display itself is opaque.

Its behind the surface, but not behind the Module. Its part of the module.

Light has to go through to the EInk b/w elements, otherwise you won't see them.

The pixels don't fly around. They are enclosed towards the surface with either clear plastic or glass.

He is not kidding. The substrate is what the display is built upon. In the image below, the layer labelled 8 is the substrate.

8 can be made of any material, you don't need glass for that - the break-transparent problem occurs with 1 and 2.

1 and 2 have nothing to do with Mobius flexible substrate.

As DNSB wrote, 8 is the substrate, and making it from plastic does not affect the optical properties of the display.

I assume that drawing comes form wikipedia, which does not state it's source. It's pretty good overall, but the depiction of "black" light reflecting is cringe worthy.
