* The Violent Century by Lavie Tidhar - "World War II with superheroes" is reductive. (I've already read Unholy Land which was great)
* The Four Profound Weaves - I don't know much about it because I'd rather be surprised. Set in the author's Birdverse.
* The Freeze-Frame Revolution - Peter Watts space story (author of Blindsight and others)
* The Stress of Her Regard - Tim Powers - vampires and famous 19th century English authors.
* Forgotten Beasts of Eld - great standalone fantasy by Patricia McKillip.
Thanks - I think you've convinced me to go for it - maybe we'll get hit with a new COVID strain causing another year or 2 of lockdown and I'll actually have time to read it. (this will be on top of last month's astronomy and web development ebook bundles and the Pluralsight tutorial bundle so I've got my work cut out for me. And we're probably due for another irresistible comic bundle any day now).

Poul Anderson's _The Broken Sword_ is on sale (it's been on sale in a different edition previously, so check your library):

Historical fantasy.

$1.99

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PI181JI

I believe it's on other stores --- published the same year as _The Fellowship of the Ring_ it was a ground-breaking and influential work (Michael Moorcock cites it as an influence). In a similar vein is his _The Merman's Children_ --- _Three Hearts and Three Lions_ and _A Midsummer Tempest_ are much lighter in tone.

The two Tim Powers books are worth the $18 level alone, and I get a Patricia McKillip book to boot. Anything else is a bonus (I don't see anything that interests me enough for the $28 level).

The top level seems to be virtually all repeats from previous Tachyon bundles. I went for the next highest level - still some repeats, but enough new.

I don't remember seeing The Violent Century before in a bundle (or in any discount online).

It's been discounted on Amazon.co.uk. I originally purchased it 4th January 2019, and I've seen it at 99p since. I'm pretty sure it was in a previous Tachyon Bundle from somewhere.

So with these bundles, does anyone have any suggestions for automating the process of cleaning up filenames, converting to MOBI and uploading to Kindle account? (I know the PDF's can be uploaded but I assume converting the EPUB version to MOBI would be preferable for reading on a Kindle device?)

I think maddz was mostly talking about the most expansive tier. Seems that every book in that tier was in last year's bundle

I would download the epub, use calibre to convert to azw3 (if your kindle supports it) and sideload the books. Calibre is really useful to keep track of your books if you often buy bundles or books in third party store. Or you can just download the mobi, it's usually available for most books in humble bundles.

Trouble the Saints by Alaya Dawn Johnson is $2.99 on Amazon.com
This is a very recent release, and was on my wishlist.
Quote:
The dangerous magic of The Night Circus meets the powerful historical exploration of The Underground Railroad in Alaya Dawn Johnson's timely and unsettling novel, set against the darkly glamorous backdrop of New York City, where an assassin falls in love and tries to change her fate at the dawn of World War II.

Amid the whir of city life, a young woman from Harlem is drawn into the glittering underworld of Manhattan, where she’s hired to use her knives to strike fear among its most dangerous denizens.

Ten years later, Phyllis LeBlanc has given up everything—not just her own past, and Dev, the man she loved, but even her own dreams.

Still, the ghosts from her past are always by her side—and history has appeared on her doorstep to threaten the people she keeps in her heart. And so Phyllis will have to make a harrowing choice, before it’s too late—is there ever enough blood in the world to wash clean generations of injustice?

Trouble the Saints is a dazzling, daring novel—a magical love story, a compelling exposure of racial fault lines—and an altogether brilliant and deeply American saga.

Ghost Species by James Bradley is $0.99 on Amazon.com
Quote:
Set against the backdrop of rapidly escalating climate catastrophe, scientists Kate Larkin and Jay Gunesekera are recruited by tech billionaire and mogul Davis Hucken to the forests of Tasmania, Australia. His Foundation's mission is not only to halt the effects of climate change, but to re-engineer and reverse the damage through the ambitious process of reviving species lost to the earth over time, including a clandestine ambition to resurrect the Neanderthals. When Eve, the first child, is born and grows up in a world crumbling around her, questions arise that she and Kate must face. Is she human or not, real or unnatural, and is she the ghost species or are we?

That's great if they come in MOBI - the nonfiction bundles I've bought were just EPUB and PDF...
