Series numbering: removing the 0 padding?

When putting 1.5 in a series index column, it automatically adds a zero to make it 1.50. Is there a way to make that stop? Doesn't seem to be anything in Tweaks.

No, there isn't a way.

You can make a custom column that shows the index without the trailing zero. The template would be something like

{series_index:format_number(10.10g)}
