Aura One and Forma have the same capacity (1200mAh) batteries and even the same manufacturer (SPRINGPOWER TECHNOLOGY). Why NiLuJe write 1250?

Because I could have sworn sysfs told me it was 1250mAh at one point, but, hey, numbers and me don't mix well ;p.

How easy is it to open the Forma and install a larger capacity battery? Also, why is Kobo using such small capacity batteries instead of at least 1500mAh?

To reduce weight. And it will probably reduce cost. And, for most people, it probably won't matter.

Agreed. This is about the only thing I dislike about the Aura ONE. I take many annotations in the books I read and constantly have to re-do the selected text to get the edges right. The Forma is better, though even it is nothing like the Oasis 3 that I also use. Kindle really has a fine screen for those of us who make many annotations.

Yeah, it's frustrating because the general public apparently wants their devices ultra thin and light, but I don't care at all.

Give me a Kobo that's an inch thick and the battery lasts a full year.

I would say differently - thickness. With such a thickness of the battery, finding a large capacity at the moment is problematic, and yes, it will be more expensive.

The Libra is like the Oasis as the hardware is similar. Kobo has improved highlighting a lot in some firmware version last year. So if you do annotate, Kindle is no longer better at it then Kobo. And the dictionary for the current Kobo firmware may be better (it's no worse) then the Kindle dictionary.

If the KA1 had the same IR touch as the Aura H2O, then there would be no problem with touch accuracy.

I find portable devices are getting to be too thin. My iPhone SE 2020 is too thin. So the case I have for it bulks it up enough to be a lot easier to hold.

I like the thickness of my H2O. it's just right. And the battery is 1500mAh. It's still doing pretty well and it's lasted over 6 years. Try that with a 1200mAh battery.

I'd prefer thicker to be easier to hold and have more room for a battery that holds more electricity such as a 1500mAh or larger battery. I would love the next Kobo to be thick enough to hold a decent battery.

Sorry, but, you know that is complete BS. There is no way you would buy that device or be willing to use it.

Which actually means the design of the devices is good. Those who need a thin device get one. Those who need a thicker device can add a cover to suite. Going thin gives the purchaser more options, not less.

I don't want thin at the expense of the battery. If I had a 1200mAh battery in my H2O, it would not be doing so well as it is.

You do not understand. What does your 2014 Aura H2O have to do with it? It has a 2.8 mm battery. It is easy to find a replacement in 2000mAh and even 2500+. Which is much higher than the 1500mAh you have.

And the Aura One / Forma with their thin battery does not have a similar one with a higher capacity. Unless you try to shove a 2 mm battery in there.

And if you increase the thickness, then here they will condemn how thick it is, and give examples of other devices and manufacturers that are thinner and lighter.

What are the dimensions of the battery used in the Forma/Libra/KA1?

I do get it that too many people want thinner/lighter. But they don't realize what it is they are giving up for that. They are giving up battery life and the battery will give out sooner and they will have to buy a new Reader sooner.
