I have been reading (briefly, though), and it seems that the processor, at least in the Clara HD supports Bluetooth. It would require serious tweaks that go far beyond dropping a compressed file on the Kobo, but if the pins are accessible and we can find a compatible kernel driver, it should be possible in theory.

Edit: Here's the datasheet: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/IMX6SLLCEC.pdf

Other option would be to set up QEMU with (hmm does it even exist?) KVM and hyper-virtualize Android, which, along with being atrociously slow even if you have KVM, would be a chore to manage with touch inputs.

so ... the real question is:
Do you really *want* to run Android apps on your Kobo?

EDIT: maybe AnBox ... will look into that
Looking at https://sites.google.com/site/gibekm...kobo-as-tablet might help. I remember finding some old Kobo Android images somewhere...

It doesn't.
"there are a number of other interfaces for connecting peripherals, such as WLAN, Bluetooth" This just means you can connect a buethooth capable transciever. The processor can't do it by itself
