It's not showing up on any of my Kindle Voyages (3) nor my Kindle PW latest generation (1), and all were updated to 5.13.4 last month.

I know, I was thinking about this the other day. Update, you don't get the new features, but you get surprise ones you didn't know were coming.

It's been well over a month for me too. The posts above report it's coming through on tablets or apps, which I haven't paid attention to since I was going to use on the Oasis and Paperwhites. Maybe the update is mainly geared toward the Kindle app, who knows.

I think it's disgraceful for Amazon to add new features and make you wait for them to be activated. Just let new features work without playing this waiting game.

It is annoying. I was hoping it was a one time thing with a previous update, but it seems to be the norm now.

I'm tempted to do a poll as to how many people have seen the new series items on the Home & Library view. One co-worker has not seen anything there other than Home Screen View. He's changed that between on and off, done multiple restarts and other—often weird—suggestions he found on the Internet and nada. I suggested that perhaps Amazon.ca has not enabled the feature yet so he called Amazon support and got the chat version of a blank stare which wasn't very useful.

No, it's not disgraceful. It's perfectly reasonable to roll out new features to a limited number of users only. It something is broken, only a limited number of users is affected. If nothing is wrong, roll-out can be accelerated. A perfectly valid method for software delivery for a product that has millions of users world wide.

With Kindles, do you have to have WiFi on to get the new features activated? Yes, it is disgraceful. There's no need to keep new features turned off. | |
