Alreader. You have to turn off the e-ink profile to get invert night mode. Hard to configure, but very good once done. The new Alreader Pro X beta is out and much easier to configure.

Koreader
After trying several Android apps, I find Koreader to be the best. It renders CSS files correctly. It is designed for e-ink devices. Lots of customization. Get it on Github rather than the Playstore. Search "Koreader releases".

Generally no. If someone were to implement it using onyxsdk it'd be possible. but I doubt anyone is interested.

KOReader runs great on my Note 2 (10.3") You might want to add dictionaries and fonts. There is a lot you can get from the project's WiKi pages, although it can't really stay up to date with all the ongoing improvements.

The other thing that KOReader and Moon reader pro do is enable night mode, which is handy because NeoReader doesn't seem to have that... at least I haven't found it!

With some of the reader apps, I found that it was necessary to delve a bit into the settings to get them ideally set for e-ink (a lot default to various colours for things such as title, links etc which do not look good on e-ink). As for Koreader, strangely switching that to night mode causes issues on my Poke 2 - the reader becomes slow, temperamental and subject to freezing. I am not sure why. |

Not much for the Night Mode, myself, but I just tried it out a little, on my Note 2, and it seemed as quick as normal. I did notice that it would refresh the screen in normal mode, between pages. (Someone could open an issue at the project on Github, if is a concern.)

I'm surprised you have an Onyx, Ken. I thought you were Kobo all the way. My misconception, obviously. |

Actually, I had a few Ectaco Jetbook Lite readers before I got into the Kobos. I was leery of the Onyx readers, until the 10.3" Mobius screen and faster cpu running Android 9 came out.

Hi there
I have a doubt. Years ago I installed KOreader on my Kobo and, if I remember correctly, it was a system that replaced the standard reader system. Is this still the case? Or does it work as a regular app on the Onyx? Thanks Luca |

Your onyx has Android, doesn't it? So just an app.
Even on Kobo it didn't replace Kobo Nickel: It alternates with it. So either...or.., but both remain on the device. |
