help with series information
Hello,
I am new to this forum and fairly new to Calibre. I have a question I’m hoping someone here might know something about. I’ve tried to search the forum, but without success, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question or if it’s already been asked somewhere. I have quite a few Kindle books, but I’d like to be able to read them on my Kobo, so I’m using Calibre to convert them. I’ve installed the KePub Input and Output plugins and tried converting the first couple of books. They are part of a series, and the series information is in the metadata for the books. When I sent the books to my Kobo, they are mostly ok, but my question is about the series information. In the list of books on my Kobo, I can see the series information. But when I go to the series tab, they don’t appear. Neither does the series they belong to. Does anyone know why that is? And if there is anything I can do about it? I’m not even sure if this is something to do with the conversion, or something to do with Kobo, so I apologise if I’ve put this question in the wrong place. I am using Windows 7, Calibre 3.48, and Kobo Glo HD if it helps to know that. Thanks in advance for any help! |

You will need to update your version of calibre. The support for the Series list was only added to the KoboTouch driver in calibre 4.12. The list is not built directly from the series info that the older versions of calibre put on the device. There are things that need to be updated under the covers.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I installed Calibre 3.48 because on the Calibre website it said that if you are using Windows 7 you should use Calibre 3.48. Is it likely to cause problems if I use a newer version of Calibre? |

Some people have problems, some don't. From memory, it depends on the graphics drivers on the computer.

4.23 is the Calibre version you should try.
Another suggestion is to upgrade to Windows 10 and then you may be able to run Calibre 5. Last edited by JSWolf; 01-02-2021 at 10:25 AM. |

Thanks!
I have another computer which uses Windows 10, so I have just tried Calibre 4.23 on that computer. I was able to install Calibre 4.23, but for some reason I could not get the KePub plugins. I've no idea why. In any case, it wouldn't be ideal to use that computer for Calibre and ebooks because I'd prefer to keep that computer for work stuff, and my Windows 7 computer for personal stuff. |
