Wait a second, do you mean 100 pot plants or 100 potted plants?

You have to remember that American English is different from the English spoken in the UK. Some people call cannabis "pot" in the UK but they are usually already part of the drug scene. I have more respect for my brain cells. Last edited by Thasaidon; 12-31-2020 at 03:40 AM. |

Regardless... it seems entirely unlikely to me to that the whole of the UK would agree with your premise that what people choose to call cannabis in every day conversation has any relationship whatsoever to their familiarity with its usage. |

I cannot see the value of ornamental plates. To me they just take up space. That's obviously a wife thing. Last edited by JSWolf; 12-31-2020 at 10:46 AM. |

I only used the term Cannabis to distinguish between the term "pot plant" (meaning an ornamental plant in a plant pot - most common usage in the UK) and "pot plant" (meaning a cannabis plant - not common usage in the UK) I have heard the term "pothead used" used but far more often I have heard people say so and so " is doing drugs/pot" or is a "druggie". I have never heard anyone in the UK say that is a "pot plant" and meaning cannabis. It is far more likely they would say that plant is "pot" What I can say is that most the places that sell ornamental plants in pots will label the section they are in as pot plants. Sometimes the term "indoor plants" or "container plants" is used. At least this difference in usage between English and US English seems to be amusing people. If you really have worries have a word with other Mods and Members from the UK they will confirm my usage of "pot plant" is common and correct. Last edited by Thasaidon; 12-31-2020 at 11:59 AM. |

The “take my wife” jokes have become increasingly unfunny, to the extent they were funny at all. Could we can the sexist stereotypes, please?

A lot, yes!!
Because the obviously satisfactory and logical answer is almost always shunned. As a starter, I would state emphatically that an E-Book should cost no more than half the price of a paper book, and should then proceed downward. |

So how does the author get paid? Does he or she get half the amount for an ebook that he or she gets for a paper book? It's hard enough making enough money to be a full time author.
