Unhappy unable to delete book in calibre 3 (after managing in calibre 5)

hello forum!

at the moment i cannot delete books in calibre 3.

SQLError: SQLError: no such module: fts5

i have done some stupid thing - i have worked with calibre 5 library from linux (a second OS) and now i can't delete books in calibre 3 in windows 7 (my main OS).

so the question is:

is it possible to recover calibre 3 db, when it had been opened in calibre 5?

restore database doesn't work
import-export doesn't work

Calibre 5 has changed the database format and it's no longer compatible with Calibre 3. You'll need to install Calibre 4.23 which is the only version pre-5 that is compatible with the Calibre 5 database.

No, you cant. You can re-create it by creating a new library and adding the books from the old library using add from directories and assume one book per directory.

or if someone will find it useful - use COPY TO OTHER LIBRARY (right mouse button in the main list) - it just works!

But if you do as I suggested, you can use your Linux Calibre install as well as your Windows install without having to created a new database every time you use your Linux install. It's stilly not to. All it takes is a simple install of 4.23 on your Windows machine.

yes, i see. thank you. but calibre 4 forces to load processor about 10% of core i5! this is to much for a such app.

I've run Calibre 4.23 and with it minimized and not running any tasks, Task Manager is showing it using 0% processor most of the time with an occasional 0.1% or 0.2% for seconds. The majority of the time it sits at 0%.

Did you try Calibre 4.23 or some other version? You do need 4.23 to use te same database as 5.x.

It would be interesting to know what plugins and features you have enabled in calibre

Run Calibre 4.23 from a CLI and use the option --ignore-plugins. Then check to see how much processor it is using. It could be a plugin causing the 10%. It's not Calibre itself. Or it could be your AV. Turn off your AV and try with the plugins to see if that fixes things.

Code:
Calibre --ignore-plugins
