My Airpanel v100 is just arrived.
It runs CE 3.0.
I'd like to update to CE 4.1 or an higer version.
Where do I find the files and a guide to do the update?

Thank you for your help

OK, success at last. I finally got the whole situation rectified with the pdf reader etc. My IT guy at work took one of them and copied the pdf reader files around and update my flux capacitor and called Doc and Marty....LOL JK It all sounded like frnech to me but never the less he got it working!

Now I'm just waiting for my aircard to come in so I can access the net.

Unless you know enough about WinCE to really know the difference, I wouldn't bother. You don't get much improvement other than the use of the Airpanel's graphics chip. You even lose some things like the spreadsheet and slideshow programs.

The programs I need to run are not compatible with version 3.0.
Don't need to use Spreadsheet or slideshow, nor watch video.
Every help is higly appreciated.
Thank you.

Another thing:
I downloaded different version of Mobipocket Reader but none of them works.
I can't install them on Airpanel.
Which version should I download?

Here is the correct Mobipocket Reader:
http://www.mobipocket.com/soft/reade...er_hpc.arm.cab

As for upgrading the OS, there is a hacked WinCE 4.1 firmware for the Airpanel. I will go find a link.

Yes, just so long as you are a masochist die hard linux enthusiast. There is no Linux distribution for it yet. It would need to be made.

Thank you Nate, very kind.
Hope you'll find the link.
It is 2 days I'm looking for it over the web with no luck at all.

Hi Guys

My Airpanel comes with Win CE 4.1 and comes with a PDF reader.

I tried to install the pdf reader from http://hpcmonex.net/izemize.htm but I could not make it work. When I tried to run the program, a window asking for license comes and get minimized and I cannot accept the agreement. Anybody knows how to to overcome it ?

Anyway what are the advantages over the default pdf reader that comes with Win CE 4.1 ?

Regards

Maqsud

The one I link to has been modified to run better on WindowsCE. Among oher things, it has support for reflowing tagged PDFs.

Device: Toshiba m200, and viewsonic airsync v210--- Yes! :-)
Guys.. thanks for the great info-- the viewsonic model info was a lot of help and just just ordered one, that's a creative solution. (poor man's iliad!)..

I thought i'd share some ideas along similar lines... I've been collecting tons of PDFs that i mostly read on my pc or laptop for years. I'm a compulsive PDA & phone upgrader and have gone through piles of them (literally).. and have always hated reading on the tiny screen of PDA's or phones.. never got around to buying a book reader, because i coulnd't afford the ones that did what i needed--- large screen, high resolution, and decent 'standard' PDF support.. in other words the irex readers for $800+... i saw the eslick and a couple of others appear to have good pdf support, but can't get myself to look at shrunken lettersize pages that have tables, and code on the little screens.

a while back i picked up a toshiba m200 tablet pc.. great design and features.. too heavy to carry around everyday, but i do take it out sometimes.. very high resolution for the size.. type looks really realistic.. screen rotation is easy and controls are intuitive.. full browsing etc. like a real computer and under $200 used now for a machine that used to sell for $3000 when it came out.. different ball game in terms of quality.

if you're into getting a second or third reader device that you can use also around the house for net browsing, this can be it.

best
m

Hi there,
I am also very new to this Airpanel thing, I bought it to use it as a nice Remote Control for my media PC as well as a lil tv for my bed , but know I ran into some TROUBLE like the others here.
When i try to use my USB it always asks for the drivers name and I do not have any clue about the name.
Then I tried a siemens 154 PCMCIA Card but this wont be recognized by the system.
Can anyone help me.
Oh I forgot the system is WIN CE 4.0 build 708
