Need: a list of do's to update internal SD card on 4.25
Trying a different approach. Please disregard.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=261578 I am new to this, but not new to computers. 30+ years of exp. with mac OS. My Glo HD is back to factory, but firmware 4.25.15875. I have a SanDisk card, 128GB, Ultra SDXC. Someone stated (in 2015) that it worked. I have gone through the above instructions. I have waited like stated for white screen, black screen etc. and gotten the expected results as stated by the instructions. It fails, however. See the images, plz. After the 4th image it goes between pic 3 and 4. Inserting the original card the Glo still works. Do I need to downgrade to 3.x via this link in order to make the "memory to RAM" move, or am I better off by a different method? I CAN follow a list, but some things I do not understand (like this "For Linux/mac run ./3.8.0.sh from the command line." From where, and how? Things like that) Is a todo-list a possible? For the method you linked to, the latest firmware mentioned in it is 4.12.12111. And that is a statement that it didn't work. There are mentions that it worked with 3.19.5761 but I can't quickly see anything other mentions of 4.x firmware versions.
The original thread for changing the SD card is Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. I would suggest following that as a way to change the card. That's basically the method I have used, though I didn't resize the partition before putting the new SD card into the device. Once I had tested it, I used the partition resizing from the Magic Memory Upgrade Mod. |

I am sorry to have misunderstood the point point of "latest firmware mentioned".
Will give the other a go. Thank you David. |

The first post is for PC but the instructions for the MAC should be on the second or third page. But, it is the same. The difference is in what tools are used. From memory, the MAC includes a tool, or you can use the dd command from the command-line. |
