Daughter of the Blood is the first in the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. It has dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK. I'm currently reading my way through Bishop's Others series, and haven't tried this series. But I'm tempted to get it, since it's the first in the series, and it's at a nice price. Does anyone have opinions of this series?

I read this one for the same reason; I had just finished the Others series. It was good, not great. I read the first couple and they were good enough to keep me looking for them on sale but not good enough to compel me to pay full price for any of them.

Thanks! Good to hear.

I went ahead and sprang for it, and nice to know that it's probably worth it on sale, even if maybe not at full price. I still have a ways to go on the Others series, and the World of the Others series, but I'll tuck this one away for the future.

Sweep with Me is the most recent title in the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews. (My favorite series of theirs...)

It's a novella that IA serialized about a year ago (??? time flies ???) and then published. I followed the serial and enjoyed it a lot, and will enjoy reading the final version, which has now dropped to $0.99 at Kindle US, although not at Kobo US or Kindle UK, at least as of now.

Did you read the new Shannon Stacey? For a stupid title it was a cute story. Has me ready to read Book #3 after seeing it'll be out shortly.

I really liked Jennifer Estep's Crown of Shards series, so I've had her on author watch at eReaderIQ for a while, and I've picked up a few titles in some of her other series when they go on sale at good prices, but none of them have made it to the top of my TBR list yet. The second Blackberry Bay book, Their Christmas Baby Contract for Harlequin Special Edition? Yup, I also liked it a lot.

I discovered her pretty early on when Carina Press was getting ready to launch so at this point I've read every one of her books. She said years ago her dream was to write for Harlequin, so happy this trilogy made that happen (even though technically Carina is part of Harlequin too).

I miss that she doesn't have a Christmas novella this year. I think she's one of the best novella writers out there for contemporary at the moment.

Did you see the Q&A she did yesterday with Amanda Bouchet, Grace Draven, and Jeffe Kennedy for the Cary Library? I haven't read her yet, but the new series sounds intriguing.
