Looks like it's a filtered story, doesn't show up unless you're logged in and have your account set to full access.

Hi, I have played around with the ini and somehow can´t get back what I want, and I have genrally no idea how it works.
This is mostly for Royalroad. Quote:
I want genres/tags in calibre and the book, but somehow it only adds the rating and warnings. 2.) Can I somehow get the Score of the stories? 3.) There are sometimes cases where I have a book already in the library and after I have added it again to the Downloader it sometimes will create a 2nd entry for this book, instead of just checking the Metadata. And I don´t get a question if I want this at all. |

Do I need the newest Calibre to get the update?
I only got a November update. urgh, can I just set: Quote:
Yes, this option is checked and "update epub if new chapters". I can only say that I have several duplicated books in my lib. I know that I had them multiple times in the Downloader, but that shouldn´t be a problem as it wasn´t with others either. The only difference is that they have a different save Path. I have just tested it with some books and it behaves correctly, as it only collects their metadata, but does not download them since they are already there. I have here: Skyclad Grand Design Burning Stars, how to tame your princess acts of androkles double. |

With the new Test version it works. 5.) How can I update already downloaded books? When I now run FFF with an existing book the missing tags will not be updated, how can I change this? And I just remembered. I had yesterday a blackout while FFF was running, so that might be why I have some books twice. |

If you want stars added, and not to replace all the other settings, you have to use the add_to_ mechanism(wiki):
Code:
[www.royalroad.com] add_to_extra_titlepage_entries:,stars add_to_include_subject_tags:,stars Quote:
Quote:
If you are just starting with FFF and/or Calibre and expect to want to use a bunch of custom columns, you should probably set up an FFF 'Saved Metadata Column': Quote:

Okay, thank you!
I actually already had this, but I had apparently to restart Calibre. How do I add the stars to an extra calibre column like with the others, because unlike the other values stars is not shown in the dropdown. And now it gets directly added to genre. Is it somehow possible to update the titlepage of existing books? -Ahh I guess "update epub always". Can I remove the Notes from authors? |

Code:
## (Plugin Only) - You can also populate calibre custom columns with ## the site specific metadata using custom_columns_settings (but only ## if 'Allow custom_columns_settings from personal.ini' is checked in ## the plugin GUI config.) There are three parts, the entry name, ## then the label of the calibre custom column, then (optionally) a ## 'mode'. 'r' to Replace any existing values, 'a' to Add to existing ## value (use with tag-like columns), and 'n' for setting on New books ## only. (Default is 'r'.) ## Literal strings can be set into custom columns using double quotes. ## Each metadata=>column mapping must be on a separate line and each ## needs to have one space at the start of each line. ## 'r_anthaver' and 'n_anthaver' can be used to indicate the same as ## 'r' and 'n' for normal downloads, but to average the metadata for ## the differents story in an anthology before setting in integer and ## float type custom columns. This can be useful for a averrating ## column, for example. Default is to sum the values of all stories, ## and numChapters and numWords are always summed. #custom_columns_settings: # cliches=>#acolumn # themes=>#bcolumn,a # timeline=>#ccolumn,n # "FanFiction"=>#collection # averrating=>#averrating,r_anthaver The line add_to_include_subject_tags:,stars adds stars to Calibre's tags. I gave you that because you were asking for include_subject_tags:stars. Again from defaults.ini, under [www.royalroad.com] specifically: Code:
## royalroad.com chapters can have author notes attached to them. ## Setting include_author_notes:true will include them with the ## chapter text. #include_author_notes:true |

FYI, there's a new FFF wiki page:
Using FanFicFare with NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) Wiki Page Now up at: https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFa...-Access-(NVDA) I installed NVDA and tried to test everything recommended. It's a wiki, so users can edit it too. Last edited by JimmXinu; 12-10-2020 at 02:32 PM. Reason: Fix url tag |

Jim - The last bracket got truncated from your URL and sent me to a "create new page." Edit it and put it inside the URL tag and it'll work.

A small request:
On AO3, if a fanfiction gets marked as a "mystery work" (apparently it's some sort of collection thing, but it seems some authors use it as a way to make their fics private) it gets this error: Code:
'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_text' EDIT: Also, did you know that FanFicFare and EpubMerge are both mentioned in AO3's official FAQ? ![]() Last edited by ownedbycats; 12-11-2020 at 08:00 PM. |

Okay, thank you.
Hopefully, my last question. Is it possible to convert the double from stars to, calibre stars? Because if I "send" stars to a stars column it will throw an error. And using a double column is not very useful if I want to filter that stuff. |

No, FFF doesn't have a way to populate Calibre's Rating column, nor rating type custom columns.
There isn't a FFF standard metadata entry that equates to 'star rating', so I don't plan to ever populate Calibre's Rating column. I've just spent some time experimenting with rating type custom columns and they are kind of a pain. They display 0 to 5 stars, but have to be set as 0-10 integer values. And whether a column shows half stars or not is set per column. So '3' displays either 1 or 1.5 stars depending on that setting. So FFF would have to add code to scale to 0-10 and convert from float to guarantee the input to rating columns would be what it expects. There frankly aren't enough sites with some that maps to 'stars' to make it worth while. Instead, you could use a numeric custom column and experiment with template output function rating_to_stars(value, use_half_stars) |
