No way to know that without knowing what the next one may be.

Anyway, I don't disagree with you, the Libra is the closest thing to what I want that exists right now and is within my budget. It's just that I've only recently started looking at ereaders, so I'm not as knowledgeable about each companies product cycles and so forth.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something slated for the holiday season before making the purchase.

Kobo's releases are usually in April or October (though sometimes in the month either side). They make an announcement about a month before that. They don't release a device every year in both of those times. And they frequently skip two in a row, but, rarely skip three.

We sometimes see some evidence of the new device a month or so before the announcement in an FCC listing or a firmware update. When we do, they usually give just enough details to start a long thread speculating on exactly what it means. Including whether it will be released for Mother's Day or not.

And my guess at this time is for an update/replacement for the Forma or Clara HD. Or something different such as a colour e-ink or maybe audio (the latter is from @geek1011's comments about the firmware).

The last time I asked, I didn't get an answer, so I'll try again: Which one?

That was an old joke that Kobo would release the device for Mother's Day and devolved into a riff about the different Mother's Days around the world.

GoodEReader posted that Kobo was going to release a new Reader on Mother's Day and it never happened. Not even close.

Thanks, this is the kind of info I was looking for.

The hefty battery alone would be enough for me to buy it. 10.3 inches would be nice too, but I can live with the current Aura ONE screen. If such a device ever did emerge, I hope they'll have fixed the wonky touchscreen. I do a lot of annotations, and getting them placed right is always a bit of a challenge.

I would prefer a plastic backed screen at 10.3" screen with a hefty battery and no buttons. I like the design of the H2O and the KA1. Maybe the new one can be thinner with a lot more battery life and 64GB.

Not interested in a 10+" screen or a hefty battery which would make the device heavy. Also not interested in a buttonless device.

8" would be the largest I'd consider buying. I don't read any PDF files on my ereaders.

Hefty in this case does not mean larger and heavy. It means a lot of power. More then we normally get in Readers. I can see not wanting a 10.3" screen. Then we should also have one with an 8" screen. Basically a revamped Forma but with the rectangular shape and no buttons and a heftier battery nd more storage.
