I tried to convert the free sample of that book, dignidad (Ensayo) (Spanish Edition), and I get the same error in calibre 5.6. It appears to be bug caused by the switch to Python 3 in calibre 5.

The sample converts without an error if I use calibre version 4.23 instead. If you revert to that version of calibre it will probably work for you.

Added: I have reported this as a bug on the calibre bug tracker.

I posted a private bug report (1906459) with the sample file.

Added: I see that Kovid has already fixed this bug. Thanks!
