Clearly more work to be done. Only for the brave and adventurous. I think I'll stick with calibre 4.23 and DeDRM 6.8.0 for now.

I agree. 6.8.0 works well with 4.23. 7.0 (or whatever the version will be) should be for Calibre 5.x.

I saved the keys from 6.8.0 and loaded them into the beta. It worked.

I tried it on my mac as well. It blew up when I tried to customize the plug in saying it could load the crypto module.

7.0 beta 1 works on Windows when the fix that was discussed above is applied and I load all my keys from 6.8.0.

There is a crypto fix for MacOS coming in the next release of calibre (5.6?) that may relate to this. I suggest that you try this again after that is released.
