Would it be possible to extend the Both page turn sides go next patch (or make another one) to have a tap anywhere on the page go to the next page?

There currently isn't a reading setting (with a tapping area location for bringing up the menu) that gives me easy page turn tapping possibility in any reading position. Sometimes my hand is positioned with my (page turning) thumb near the bottom middle (where my menu-area is), and sometimes my thumb is near the right or left middle (where the other possible menu-area could be).

In other words I'd prefer to always swipe down when I need the menu, and always tap anywhere/wherever to turn the page.

I've not tried but see this from the documentation

<key> the option name, one of:

menu_main_15505_label - sets the label used for the NickelMenu button on 4.23.15505+

<val> the option value:

menu_main_15505_label - the label to use instead of "NickelMenu"

That's starting to get close to the limits of what can be done with a simple easy-to-maintain patch, but I'll take a look later and see if I can reduce the height of the menu area to 0.

Hi, any news on this?

On a side note, why don't you use github issues instead of the forum to discuss new features? I think it would make it a lot easier to follow the conversation on each request.

No, not yet. I was busier than I expected.

The issue with GH issues is that most people here don't know how or want to use it.

As a side question, how hard would it be to show the time on the unlock screen?

I have realized I often use my kobo just to check the time in the middle of the night, it would be nice to be able to just press the on button, glance at the screen and turn it off again.

Yes the MiniClock does still work! However there is a newer version from September 2020:

That would mean the screen would have to be updated every minute. In other words, the device would not be asleep... so you might as well leave it on instead of patching it.

Or of course, use your phone or a bedside clock (you can get ones that switch the display off to be dark, and only light up when you touch it... or ones that are analog with a light that comes one when you press a button)
