Those with devices (Kindles, Sony or others) are showing them to those who are interested in purchasing one, but who would like to see them in person before purchasing.

This is not about 2 people with Kindles getting together and showing them off to another Kindle owner. That would be a book club

although we do that too, and call it a meetup. it's probably like a really geeky bookclub.

Demo/purchase models available in Germany (Stuttgart/Bayreuth)?

Hi All,
I live in Greece and there are no eReader devices available in stores here to see or buy (all mail-order) I will travel to Germany in May (Stuttgart and Bayreuth) and was wondering if anyone can recommend German stores where I could see the iRex Iliad and DR devices, plus perhaps one 6" device to compare the viewing experience for myself?

Any advice on good discounts on ordering these devices by mail-order to Germany would also be appreciated.
Thank you!

No... also I was wondering if you would like to meet me at 3 a.m. in the alley behind block buster video so I can try your iRex DS1000. Come alone.

If anyone in downtown Los Angeles wants to see either an eBookwise 1150 or a Kindle 1.0, let me know. I work up on Bunker Hill and would be happy to bring them to one of our lovely public spaces. :-)

Bunker Hill is in Massachusetts. We even have the monument.

PRS-700, PRS-505 in San Lorenzo Valley, CA...

We've got a PRS-700 (mine) and PRS-505 (the family's). Be glad to show folks around San Lorenzo Valley or South Bay Area. I can drag along a Nokia Internet Tablet with FBReader for comparison with an LCD if you like.

Private message to reach me is probably better than posting back here, as I forget to look at threads here sometimes.

You should be able to find a Sony 505 in any Thalia shop. There are two in Bayreuth: Hohenzollernring 58 inside Rotmain-Center and Maximilianstraße 18.

Besides that I don't think you will find any other device in a store here, either.

Thank you Kleki,
That is good news since I haven't actually purchased the iRex device yet, and am also considering the sony prs-505! Price is quite high (300E) compared to the US dollars - but I suppose I'd get a useful warranty.

I appreciate your assistance.

Cybook Gen3 & BeBook in the Vancouver Area, BC, Canada

I thought I would update my entry since I now have in my possession 2 dedicated eInk eBook readers!!! If anyone would like to see a Cybook Gen3 and/or BeBook in person just send me a message.

I just got my BeBook this week and am still deciding if I'm going to make the move to OpenInkpot or not. I received the original 64MB Cybook for Christmas 2007 and had to upgrade to the 512MB version when it came out. Hubby got the 64MB version. Both Cybooks are still going strong, I even got myself one of the leather cases so we could tell them apart without closely inspecting the navigation button.

Anyone have an iRex DR1000(original or S) in the Boston, MA area? I will come to a coffee shop near you and buy coffee/snacks It would be nice to see it before plonking down $850 for it.
