This sort of thing comes up over and over. Take a look at this recent past discussion and see if it helps.

TL;DR: "Add a slow_down_sleep_time in personal.ini under [archiveofourown.org] to a longer value like 4 or more (default is 2 seconds)."

Although it takes a long time, I found that a sleep time of 10-15 seconds usually gets me no errors when doing huge updates.

After "Download from url" is selected, a "Story URLs, one per line:" box is opened. In the older version of FFF, whenever you copy and paste a new url to the box where the old url left off, it automatically added a new line so that the new url you just pasted is on a new line.

Now, with the latest version of FFF, if you paste a new URL to the old line, the new url is pasted on the same line as the last url. It's not a big deal as you can manually press return after every url added before adding a new url, but was this a new design choice or did something get changed accidentally? I liked it better when FFF added the new url to a new line automatically on paste.

Like in the older version it'd be like this on pasting url 2 after url 1:
url 1
url 2

In the latest version, it's like:
url 1url 2

Jim mentioned a few posts ago that it was a deliberate change for easier editing. Dragging and dropping URL in will place it on a new line.

I am trying to update a story on forums.spacebattles.com. I have 26 chapters already downloaded. There are 46 chapters on the site. When I click on update, it says there are already 26 chapters.

Thanks, I suspected that might have been the case, but wasn't sure.

One more question. What's the notation in the personal.ini. doc if I want to sign onto a website using google, facebook, or some other third party sign in mechanism? Like how if I wanted to sign onto fanfiction, it'd be:

[fanfiction.net]
username:xxx
password:yyyy

Except sign in through google instead?

If you give FFF a post URL like that, it uses the links in the post. Use the thread URL instead: https://forums.spacebattles.com/thre...litrpg.866167/

Except sign in through google instead?

You don't. Only direct login without (two factor auth) is supported.

UPDATE: FFF never logs into fanfiction.net anyway.

You didn't give me any adapter_novelupdatescc examples, so that's untested.

I forget to put the urls for the dapter_novelupdatescc because is the same url of adapter_wuxiaworldco, changing wuxiaworld.co with novelupdates.cc

There are sites that don't offers email notifications to inform about updates, but offer rss feeds. I use the service of blogtrottr.com to receive emails when there is updates on the rss to somewhow simulate emails notifications.

So far it has worked excellent with sites like "www.wuxiaworld.com", where FanFicFare can accept chapters urls.

With the sites www.scribblehub.com and www.novelall.com this not work, because FFF only accepts the chapters list urls.

I propose to make FFF also accepts chapters urls of these sites.

Here things don't seems so straightforward. There isn't anything in the chapter url to deduce the chapter list url. The only way I see here is to open the chapter url, and parse the chapter list url from the html in the chapter page. I don't know if FFF adapters can do that as they are now.

I hope that what I'm suggesting here isn't a lot more work that what it's worth. Anyway I give my thanks in advance for all your handwork in this amazing software JimmXinu.

What version of Calibre on what OS? I'm guessing quite an old one?

UPDATE: I see the polyglot error with Calibre v2.85.1, but not newer versions. I'll have a fix for that in the next test version.

- Don't use polyglot, not included until Calibre3. Remove some debug output.
- adapter_scribblehubcom: Accept chapter URLs.
- adapter_wwwnovelallcom: Accept chapter URLs, must change to true storyId/URL after.

I only tested the scribblehub and novelall changes with a few example URLs--I don't read those sites, so I don't know what's common.

When giving adapter_wwwnovelallcom a chapter URL, it can't find the storyUrl until after it's downloaded that chapter page. There are a few other adapters that change the storyId and storyUrl like that, but they are rare. (I vaguely recall that it can sometimes cause some weirdness, but I don't remember what exactly.)
