Drofgnal say he is happy with his version 2.X. It started me thinking what version I started on. I think it was 0.8x or something like that.

I'm using 4.19. I generally don't update unless there is something new that I want. Things are working swimmingly for me at the moment, and other than adding a couple of new plugins, I've not made any recent changes.

It does everything I need it to so why switch? I only have 2 plugins installed the DeDRM and the one for KFX books from amazon. It recognizes my kindle voyage and Fire tablet. For my IOS devices which I now primarily use (11” iPad Pro) I just find the native file and load it from finder. I need nothing else.

Man, it's taking quite sometime for them to get DeDrm working in 5, isn't it? I've been waiting for them to come out with it.

I guess I might have uninstall and go get an older version of Calibre and reinstall I guess if I can even find one. What a pain in the arse. Last time I ever just update Calibre when it tells me there's an update available like I usually do!

2 weeks is a long time? I remember using the standalone tools and writing up blog posts about how navigate the inner mysteries of it.
And Pepperidge Farms remembers too

Thankfully, I always wait a week or two before upgrading, so I saw the announcements of de-drm not working. I think I'll just sit tight for the foreseeable future

For those who were paying attention to calibre's development, it was pretty common knowledge well before the release of the 4.9 betas that DeDRM was not going to work until it was rewritten to be Python 3 compatible.
