I hope fer you it was out in the sun, otherwise it was a complete waste of a vacation.

Glad for you, I just wish I could afford to go somewhere like that.

This is currently the longest thread in the Lounge. I haven't looked at other places to see if any have it beat.

Thank you. I am keeping down a little bit of solid food, but I am staying on my back as much as possible today. I made it over to Teresa's house and let her dogs out (while I lay down on the back porch). That went well.

I found someone to walk the doggies tonight, so all I will have to get through is feeding the cats their dinner. The litter boxes I can clean one at a time so I don't need to be up for very long. Five minutes is about all I can do standing and then my guts feel like I've got a red hot bowling ball in there. It's the oddest thing .... lying down there is no pain at all .... stand up for a few minutes and WHAP! Honestly, I've never heard of something like this.

All I heard about my neighbor is that she had onset of symptoms about four hours after eating (she wasn't at the same party -- she ate at a restaurant) and thought it was food poisoning as well. I don't know if she had this weird-ass stand up and wish you were dead stuff on day two.

In any event, I figure it's all for the best. I needed to find someone who could walk the doggies when I'm traveling on business. Nelda hasn't been able to since she had her knee surgery, and it's expensive boarding the girls every time I travel. Even if I keep Nelda to feed the cats and pay this young lady to walk the dogs, I still end up on the plus side.

I'm going to do a little research on noroviruses .... I've been a bit out of the loop for the past few years.

Viruses take longer to act than the bacteria that cause food poisoning. I hope for you that it's a benign type of bacteria. Please you have to consult, some can take ages to subdue.

One of Britain's top chefs, Heston Blumenthal, has had problems with a large number of people falling ill after eating at his restaurant. It turned out not to be food poisoning, but norovirus.

I'm supposed to go to the doctor on Friday for my last post truck mishap exam. If I'm still sick by then, I'll definitely bring it up at that visit.

pshrynk mentioned "positional nausea" which can result from screaming trots (which I most certainly had from 2am on Sunday until my guts were squeaky clean several hours later), so my guess is that that's what I'm dealing with.

I've had Salmonella food poisoning before, and as bad as this has been, it is no way as bad as that was .... I feel like holy hell, but with that I was actively praying for death. So, whatever it is .... virus or bacterial .... stomach "flu" or food poisoning .... I'm pretty sure it isn't going to kill me.

I've kept down three fruit and grain bars and half a bottle of Lipton Green Tea so far today, and the worst symptom (other than when I fed the cats this morning) has been three or four killer farts.

That's progress, right??

Only three or four? How can you expect to be at top form of competition if you can only manage three or for killer farts? Iaien Mac Mach, All Time Scots National Flatulence Champ three years running (01, 02, and the enviable 03-04 Grand Competition) could muster three or four killer farts before even having breakfast. After a strong plate of beans, he could lay low an entire village! Buck up there, lady! Let's get some heft into it!

Mind you .... I'm doing killer farts with almost no solid food whatsoever. I call that rather phenomenal.
