I took a quick look at the new firmware and did not notice anything interesting beyond the features already called out in the release notes.

There continues to be work on a couple of unreleased features that have been in development for a while:

Kindle Curator: "Set the cover of the book, magazine, comic, or manga that you are currently reading to display on lock screen, and apply this setting to all child and adult profiles."

Text-to-Speech: "Text-to-Speech has a required update available. Please download this update to continue using Text-to-Speech. Tap to update voice package"

That happens to me with one book, but it is the unmodified download from amazon on a kindle running 5.9.something. So nothing to do with changing margins or firmware 5.13.3

I deleted it, then redownloaded and transferred over USB, but that didn't help.

The 'Absent Cover' error on sideloaded books has not been fixed. But we all know [wink wink] that this was no error, but a deliberate 'feature'.

Gives me hope that TTS will make a comeback on Kindle, and maybe even support more than just English.

My O3 is on 5.13.2 and the update option is grayed out. I guess it will magically randomly update some day when least expected.

The Update option will be greyed out unless you manually download the update file and place it on the device.

Interesting. In a decade or so of various Kindles I've never downloaded an update. They've always just shown up on my Kindle. I thought at times the update button was active but maybe not. It has been a while and I never really pay attention other than noticing once in a while the sequence number has changed.

Mine are almost never available the first week of release - it stays greyed out sometimes weeks until it picks it up, then will update

You can update now by manually downloading as was said.

I thought maybe an update came out. I need to check my version. I went to wake my Oasis 3 today, but it would not turn on and I was starting to freak out. When I put it in the wall, it restarted after awhile, which it usually only does with an update, and is now working. Wonder if it was trying to update. My battery wasn't that high, after charging 10 minutes reached 14%, so perhaps that was the problem if it was trying to update. Who knows.

I have never seen or heard of such an error using -45px. Try and see if that works. Are you using KFX or KF8.

It also has a deletion issue if you side load / USB transfer a later version than the bought version.

Collections are greyed out, even if they exist and a book is in them, but maybe I've forgotten how to list them? I can add and remove books on Collections, but not list Collections.

If they are showing as "greyed out" in the filter list, try tapping to show "all" rather than just "downloaded".
