The Fallen Boys by Aaron Dries
Amazon US $0.99

Quote:
Marshall’s hunger to understand the reason for his son’s suicide devours his life. It appears that the boy’s secret will remain buried with him—until Marshall discovers something tucked into the seams of a musty, old teddy bear. It is a portable thumb-drive, the contents painting a chilling portrait of a child who was desperate to be heard, and his mysterious Internet friend who was only too happy to listen. And whisper, whisper, whisper.

Step by step, Marshall must track these digital footprints into very real and very dark woods, unaware that he is being led into a maze of lies and violence from which he may never return.

I can agree. I've become a Kindle reader through and through. I'm slowly trying to read and re-home my hard copies of 90% of my books.

A Debt to be Paid: A Novella of Creature Horror by Patrick Lacey
Amazon US $0.99

Quote:
Nowhere to run!

Gillian Foster is desperate. She received a very strange letter in the mail not long ago. Since then, she's been seeing shadowy figures everywhere. Coming for her. Frantic to find a safe place, she leaves home with her daughter Meg, only to find there is no way to outrun her pursuers.

Twenty years later, Gillian has been admitted to Hawthorne Psychiatric Facility. Meg receives a similar letter and is hunted by an unseen force. Is Meg also mentally ill, or are these creatures real? And if so, was her mother right all those years ago? Is there no place to hide?

This one's been mentioned previously, and it is an incredible non-fiction book that explores horror paperbacks from the '70s and '80s:

Paperbacks From Hell, priced at the INCREDIBLY LOW PRICE of only $3.99

It's normally close to $20.00

I have the ebook, and it is truly wonderful.

Here's the Amazon link:

Dark Legion

Quote:
Near the village of Tormount, on Cranston's Hill, Malcolm Amberley had been found dead.

He was discovered in the centre of the Standing Stones, clutching the curiously ornamented hilt of a strange dagger, driven into his heart.

A curtain of evil hung over the village, a nightmare for Terence Amberley who arrived to attend his brother's funeral.

Did Malcolm commit suicide, or did some evil force still remain viable in the area, forcing him towards a mysterious death?

As Terence begins to search for answers with the help of his old village friend Clivedon Park, he begins to see a pattern develop in the locals' behaviour.

People are disappearing in great droves at night, and claim to not remember a thing about it.

But Terence believes uncovering where and why these disappearances are occurring will help him solve the mystery of his brother's death...

Speaking of 'mentioned before': The Hour Before Dark by Douglas Clegg is $0.99 at Amazon US.

Quote:
Never play the Dark Game...It will take you over...it will come alive...

From New York Times bestselling author Douglas Clegg comes this riveting supernatural thriller of dangerous secrets within a haunted family. After one of the most vicious killings of recent years, Nemo Raglan must return to the New England island he thought he'd escaped for good . . . and the shadowy home called Hawthorn.

The Midwives by Duncan Ralston is $0.99 at Amazon US

Quote:
A killer on the loose. A writer on the run. A town plagued by an ancient evil.

On tour with his latest book, true crime writer Martin Savage discovers one of his most-dangerous subjects has escaped. The so-called "Witch Hunter," a delusional murderer of women and their unborn children, holds a deadly grudge. He'll stop at nothing to get his revenge, and destroy everything Martin cares about.

With nowhere to run, Martin and forensic psychologist Sheila Tanner flee to the town he left when he was a boy, after his mother was locked away in a psychiatric facility. A town hidden deep in his past, where no one would think to look for them.

But things are not what they seem in Barrows Bay. The idyllic island holds terrible secrets. An ancient evil lived here long before the first Irish settlers crashed upon its shores in a coffin ship. An evil wearing the innocent faces of elderly midwives who've delivered every child in the Bay for two hundred and fifty years.

Martin and Sheila think they’re safe in his childhood home. But Martin’s mother has plans for them. Plans that require sacrifice.

And sacrifice requires blood.

The Method by Duncan Ralston is $0.99 at Amazon US

Quote:
How hard will you fight for the one you love?

Frank and Linda's marriage has begun to unravel. When old friends tell them about an unconventional couples therapy retreat called "The Method," they jump at the chance to attend. One last attempt to stay true to their wedding vows - 'til death do they part.

Run by the enigmatic Dr. Kaspar, Lone Loon Lodge is a secluded resort deep in the Montana wilderness. The staff is friendly and eccentric. The couple joining them is seductive.

When hunters "accidentally" shoot one of the guests, events quickly spiral out of control. Realizing they can only trust each other, Frank and Linda must set aside their personal issues and work together to survive.

Nothing is what it seems at Lone Loon Lodge, and only one thing is certain: Love Is Pain.
