They have a fulfillment center next to the airport, which is about 15 minutes from my house, traffic depending, and a warehouse another 10 minutes down the road from that, so many of the popular items are close by for same- or next-day delivery. There's another big one up in Louisville and one out by Memphis, all of which are in the next-day range. I'm positioned well for Amazon deliveries.

You certainly are!

I did get spoiled when I lived in Texas because I was very near the Fort Worth DC. Then I moved about 6 hours away and that was still the nearest DC to me! So I no longer got next day stuff, even before covid.

There is a new DC coming up 2 hours away from me and another coming up 4 hours away from me, so hopefully my shipments will get a little faster again.

The two items I ordered are coming on Wednesday and Thursday. I ordered some biodegradable poo bags (900) with to poo bad holders and a Fire Stick 4k.

I'm in northwest Arkansas now. I'd read that a DC in Tulsa is opening/has opened and supposedly next year a DC in Little Rock. Hopefully my prime delivery status will get back to averaging 2 or 3 days instead of 4-5 or more.

edit: from googling, it looks like there is a DC in Kansas City? But I don't usually get stuff originating from there. Also, there is one listed in Oklahoma City, but again I've never gotten anything from there. I just know I was spoiled when I lived within an hour of Fort Worth.

FYI, if you have been missing not getting digital credits for No-Rush shipping, it looks to be back in full effect for Prime Day. I've placed several orders today and have been able to get them with almost all orders. Amazon must be anticipating lots of orders...

Placed an order last night, shortly after midnight, 10/13 EDT.

I don't have Prime, and had completely forgotten about Prime "Day" being on the 13th (any significance there?) and 14th. Believe me, I'll make sure to mark the date(s) on next year's calendar--so I won't try to place an order that(those) day(s)!

I never have had an order so botched up by Amazon as I have this time (and I am a customer from all the way back to when Amazon was just a bookstore of Bezos' in Lexington, Kentucky)! Not even close to it. I honestly don't know exactly what items I'll be receiving nor when!

Did anyone try to save webpages of his or her order, to their hard drive (or wherever)? Did anyone who did that find that when they tried to open those files, they got an error message saying that the files had been deleted? How does that happen??? Well, I've managed to save screens, screenshots, and a few webpages here and there, so if anyone wants to deny that it happened, they won't get very far.

There's always chat to save us, though, right? To Amazon's credit, after having Robot ask you a few questions, you usually can get a real human. Well, this time I got Robot, and It pretty quickly handed me over to a real human. Except, after waiting 30 minutes or so this time, I never did get a real human! Later today (it's still the 13th here), I saw a message from Robot telling me to allow It up to 48 hours to get back to me (but I wonder--will it be a real human even this time?).

Demand for those is probably really high, so they're backordered basically. At least they let you buy at the sale price even if they didn't have enough left to fulfill immediately.

I was out most of the day, but the site was still acting glitchy when I got home and ordered something a few hours ago. That probably accounts for the delay, the support people are swamped. I suspect demand was a lot higher than Amazon was expecting today.

I'm planning to build a new PC soon, but a friend advised me to wait for the Ryzen 5000 CPUs before buying a CPU, motherboard or RAM. I ended up buying two 512GB Samsung 860 Pro SSD drives for it, though, since they were on sale for $99 each. I have a ~10TB RAID array on my old PC that I share on the network for storage, so that should be all the hard drive space I need on the new PC.
