Just for documentation, I just updated a fanfic where I had some text highlighted with Calibre's new annotation feature. (Storing annotations inside the ePub is disabled.) It added the new chapter and didn't touch the annotation whatsoever.

I have tested a few stories from storiesonlinenet and finestories. They all look good. And I was relieved to see this as wasn't looking forward to doing it

Thanks. Can't say I enjoyed it, either. I figured out what was wrong with it in the shower this morning. Seems like all my best ideas happen there.

ADDED: BTW, do you know anything about scifistories.com? Seems to be a third site using the same login domain and even user accounts?

Yes it is. They have quite a few sites, but, I think these are their three main story sites and the others are subsets of one of these with simplified layout. They also can have the same stories, but, I don't know if the submission is shared or not.

I just tested it a few stories scifistories.com and they worked. In this case, I didn't have my user details in the ini file, so it prompted me for this with no problems.

New Test Version Posted

- Change ponyfictionarchive.net to https by default
- Making eFiction series name/desc collection work with more sites.
- Apply CLI --json-meta to --list to see series name/desc.

Most of the supported eFiction sites will now collect series name & comments. Still uses the old code for collecting story URLs, though.

For the curious, that's 57 sites with series, 23 that don't have series, 19 sites that are currently broken, and 43 I haven't checked.

You may now start requesting series name/comments support for your favorite sites. But only after you've tried it to see if it's already there.

Here is a tip for any FFF users who also happen to be AO3 authors: Before you start to make a bug report about your new fic getting an error on download, make sure you've actually posted the damn thing instead of just saving it as a draft.

I have dual monitors and I have found since the last update that the drop down menu for FFF shows up in my other monitor instead of the one I have Calibre in. Is there a setting that I need to amend to fix this?

This looks to be a general problem. If I have calibre on my secondary monitor, the menus for any of the toolbar buttons appear in the top left of the primary monitor. I don't have the second monitor plugged in all the time, and don't tend to put calibre on it when it is plugged in, so I don't know when it started.

This is on Windows 10.

This is a bug in Qt (the toolkit calibre uses) and will be fixed when
the version of Qt bundled with calibre is next updated.

I already reported this. (it is one of the packages that Kovid uses, at fault) In my case I run Over-Under monitors with Calibre on the Top one. The Menu appear at the top of the lower one, but horizontally proper.
