I think the best solution would be to copy the library from the NAS and then do a Restore database and then a check library from Library maintenance. Do you agree?

As I said - Long time since I did this…

If a restore doesn't work out, then assuming the library on the NAS still exists then adding its contents into a fresh library should work.

I guess I prefer a clean slate rather than starting with something of questionable provenance.

Do what Jon suggests (database restore), if that doesn't work out, do as I suggest (library rebuild)

After you've restored and made any corrections, check that everything seems to be OK. If it is OK, you are done and the NAS can be used to keep your library backed up.

If it's not OK, go back to the library on the NAS and create a new library based on the structure of the existing library and then import all the eBook from the NAS and go from there.

How do I fix individual errors? Check Library says there are extra titles, but I can only find one copy (in two formats). It says there are missing covers, but I can open the cover files. The 'fixable' option says that this choice will hide the error.
What should I do from here?

I went through the process again, and the library check shows no problems.
