That makes sense.
![]() I also noticed that FFF will skip an already-downloaded fic if you try to download it again through "Download from URL." Does it search through all the ePub metadata? |

I am trying to download "The Last Button" by valis2 on http://occlumency.sycophanthex.com/v...y.php?sid=1861
I have my site logon already in FanFicFare's personal.ini file, in case the story file is protected from being viewed or downloaded by non-members. I clicked 'Download from URLs' and pasted in the URL from the top of the web page and clicked 'OK.' It indicated it was fetching metadata and then popped up a download ended box, saying: 'None of the 1 URLs/stories given can be/need to be downloaded. See log for details. Proceed with updating your library(Error or Last Checked Columns, if configured)?' I clicked 'View Log' and it indicated: Status: Error Title: Unknown Author: Unknown Comment: 'NoneType' object has no '__getitem__' URL: http://occlumency.sycophanthex.com/v...y.php?sid=1861 Having sorted my Calibre "Publisher: Occlumency Syncophanthex" stories Alphabetic by Title, it would have been between "Kiss the Baby Good Night" and "Many Happy Returns" if I already had it in my library. Am I doing something wrong? Click Link above to see my screenshot with added pop-up boxes. I have FanFicFare v3.22.1 and Calibre v4.23 I can view the story perfectly fine in both Firefox 80.0.1 (64-bit) and Microsoft Edge Version 85.0.564.44 (Official build) (64-bit) on Windows 10. Thanks for any assistance you can provide! |

No, that would take forever. When given a story URL, it searches for an existing story with the same (usually normalized) story URL and, optionally, title & author.

Error
Could anyone possibly tell me what this error means? I was trying to use the plugin to save a book from Wuxiaworld to read offline and it just throws me this error everytime. For the record I'm not very knowledgeable here so I apologize ahead of time lol.

The error says that you are trying to use 'Get Story URLs from Web Page' and the site is forbidding it.
Without knowing the URL you are using, that's about all I can say. |

Sorry, this was the one I was trying to save, I clicked on the sidebar in Calibre and chose "Get Story URL's From Webpage" then put in this link.

Question: On AO3, there's a series made up of a bunch of one-shots. The author adds new ones every so often, but sometimes inserts the new ones into the middle of the series. (I guess they're supposed to be in chronological order or something.)
If I turn this into an anthology, will FFF be able to correctly re-order the fics when updating it? (So far, I've only done series that were complete.) |

[QUOTE=drea;4032142]Jim might have his own input but
I don't think .site is supported? You can check supported sites at first page of this thread. From my experience, yes it does insert it in the middle as I was updating a few anthologies currently.[/QUOTE Damn, you're right I apparently confused the two. Just my luck lol, been trying for three days to find a way to do it and thought I had, Bleh. Last edited by Alastaire; 09-07-2020 at 07:59 PM. |

We support wuxiaworld.co and wuxiaworld.com, but not www.wuxiaworld.site. And before you ask, may I direct your attention to the FAQ Please add site XYZ to FanFicFare?

update: I don't think people necessarily realize that you are not restricted to site series when making anthologies; you can manually put in any story URLs you want--even from multiple different sites. Last edited by JimmXinu; 09-07-2020 at 08:20 PM. |

Course this is one of those sites that there is no real communication or news/blog to communicate one way or the other so I'm not sure. But that might be an easy fix/switch if so. Example story links. wuxiaworld doesn't work for above reasons, but the link/story address format remains the same https://www.wuxiaworld.co/Mages-Are-Too-OP/ https://www.novelupdates.cc/Mages-Are-Too-OP/ Last edited by Mandabar; 09-08-2020 at 06:33 AM. While visually very similar, I don't think those are the same site.
That story has different access restrictions, different average rating, different comments, etc on the two sites. I'm able to see wuxiaworld.co just fine. 5XX errors are generally some kind of server error issue, which has probably been resolved. |

'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xf3 in position 77: invalid continuation byte when trying to download from wuxiaworld.co |
