Hi there,
I'm a recent KoReader user on Pocketbook Touch HD 3 and would very much appreciate some help with a couple of questions. How can I see/browse my whole book collection like in stock firmware? I can only browse through the books of each author. On a follow up question, is there any way to display the progress on each book? Thank you very much. V Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk |

But you can associate common filetypes to KOReader in settings -> device -> file associations. Then you use the Pocketbook library to choose your books and they will open in KO directly. Which leds me to the other question: the progress of each book will be updated within the file manager but not on your Pocketbook library. |

In a way it's a bit of a pity that they published that about a week too early.

Perhaps it's just me, but I find that I prefer the way the stock reader antialiases the fonts, to the level that they for me are easier to read. And the fonts also seem slightly taller in the stock app. It might be my TL3, or it might be my eyes, I don't know.

@Lykke: Play with the font hinting toggle in the bottom menu.
I seem to remember that we default to auto-hinting for... reasons. That may not be the case of the stock reader. No hinting should be perfectly fine on high DPI eInk. Native hinting may be preferable on low DPI eInk (or at tiny font sizes, provided they're hinted properly). Regardless, we're using modern defaults (LIGHT render, i.e., no hinting on the x axis), so, differences are to be expected. ---- Possibly relevant: https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/1171 (Because the refresh type may affect perceived contrast). |

I installed two latest nightlies and none worked from library although I associated files extensions with KoReader. Also, dictionary download wasn't working.
The install process is pretty straight forward, so I'm not detecting if I did anything wrong. After those nightlies working for any of you? Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk |

Connect the reader to your computer and remove system/config/extensions.cfg Start KOReader, go to settings -> device -> file extensions. Select All. Now reboot (from KOReader or poweroff -> boot in PB). Any files you open now should be opened in KOReader, but you can open them in other readers by long pressing a book. |

By the way @pazos, since v2020-08-1-40 I have noticed that the screen blinks several times when a book is opened from the PocketBook home screen. And it only happens when the screen refresh is set to KOReader on every page step (or less than 5 page steps). It happens on both the PB Touch HD 3 and the Inkpad 3. In your previous test compilation this did not happen.
(This does not happen if you open the books from KOReader). |

Like a time clock? That's expected during a couple of seconds but the file should open after that. Are you sure you uncompressed both applications/ and system/ in the release zip?. It sounds like you're missing system/bin/koreader.app

BTW, the test build was based on a workaround. The code merged is much better and was contributed by ezdiy. Anyways I cannot spot differences on the code that can explain that behaviour (other than the trick above). Also @Cellaris, you might want to help us trying the changes in https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/1171, since they are intended to improve ghosting and you might end ditching the screen refresh after each page. |

@pazos: Ah, yep, a partial like that will get accounted by the refresh rate algo.

When I uncompress the zip file, I only merge the applications folder. The system folder isn't merged or copied to the device, right? Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk |
