Same way Bezos' phone was hacked, your Kindle could be too
There is Israeli malware for the Kindle on the hands of crooks. Just a heads up. Amazon and Bezos don't care enough about security.

There is nothing to "hack" on a Kindle.

What personal information are they going to get off a Kindle? Your bookmark locations?

That is simply not true. Amazon wants to sell to you as much as possible. No customer would buy from an unsecure device, so out of self-interest Amazon cares a lot about security.
Even if you care a lot software gets hacked. There is no software that is safe from manipulation. And quite often the problem is not the code but the person in front of the device, especially when it comes to malware ![]() Nevertheless, thank you for the headsup. It's always good to be informed. |

Since you can't install WhatsApp on eInk Kindles, this particular method can't be used to install malware on Kindles. While all internet-enabled devices can be remotely hacked, the actual risks for eInk Kindle users are relatively low. On the contrary, current eInk Kindle models can't be jailbroken without hardware modifications, which makes it very difficult to install malware on them. |

This exactly. Pegasus was a chain of exploits for iOS. Bezos was one of the targets of the attack, which indeed can be triggered by opening a malicious crafted message in whatsapp or imessage. Nothing to do with e-ink kindles

Agree with Deskisamess. The entire thread has nothing to do with Kindles. Lets move on

Other than the possible personal info page you may have entered, whats to hack unless you have created personal documents such as a passwords list that have been side loaded or emailed to your Kindle reader? Are you that concerned about the books you may have loaded? IMO no way for a hacker to determine whether a book is legally obtained or not seeing as how books from many sources can be on a Kindle reader, or about any other brand.
