Substitute Cover for a Kobo Touch?
Hi all
New member here. This may be a bit of an odd question ... I have an old (6 years) and much beloved Kobo Touch. The sleep cover has been coming apart lately, and I want to get a new one, but where I live Kobo doesn't have much of a sales presence anymore, and I can't find an appropriate cover to buy. I'm wondering ... would anyone know if a sleep cover of any of the Kindles would fit my device? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I was in a similar situation with my Kobo Glo HD (official sleepcover were discontinued). Someone recommended the ForeFront cases available on amazon. I got one and I'm quite happy with it.

Is this an original Kobo Touch or the Kobo Touch 2.0? If it is an original Touch, is it the same size as the Touch 2.0? I can only find cases for the Touch 2.0.

The OP said "6 years". The Touch 2.0 was released at the same time as the Glo HD which was April 2015. So, can't be a Touch 2.0. It is probably an N905C Touch.

But, the OP also said "sleep cover", which the original Touch didn't have. Maybe "6 years", is rounding up, and it is a Touch 2.0. If so, this used the same cover as the Glo HD. And, the Glo HD would fit fairly well in the covers for the Glo.

That's why I asked because of the conflicting information. Do you happen to know if the Touch and Touch 2.0 are the same size? If not, and it's a Touch, then finding a cover might be difficult.

I recently picked up an official Kobo Aura case for my Touch N905C for £2, from WH Smith. As the Aura and Touch are the same size, I thought it might fit. However the Touch had a curved back that made it too tight for the side clips on the case. I got it to fit by cutting through the plastic that connects the clips with a craft knife. This damaged the lining, but didn't go through to the back of the case.
The Touch sticks out a little at the top but overwise fits.

Read my post again. I gave a list of devices that do, or can, share covers with with the Touch 2.0. Don't you think I would have included the Touch in that list if they could?

But, to be explicit, the size of the Touch and the Touch 2.0 are very different. The screen size is the same, but the sizes of the bezel, the thickness of the devices, and overall shapes are different. The covers are not interchangeable.

Apologies! It's actually a Kobo Glo. I don't know how I made that mistake!
All Kobo covers available here are expensive, just as the devices themselves are. I was wondering (without much hope) if any of the Kindle covers would substitute.

Strictly, you need a cover mode for the Glo. The cover for the Glo HD and Touch 2.0 will fit. But, will probably cover the SD card slot. These are all covers that fit tightly to the device. There are covers that use a loop over the corners of the device. One designed for a device that is roughly the same size should work.

Yes, a cover with loops seems the best bet. Not sure whether those would have the magnet to make the device sleep though. I may have to forgo that feature.

I suggest you try ebay for a proper sleep cover.
