Exporting highlights from NeoReader
Hi. Does anyone know of a way to export highlights from ebooks in NeoReader?
I just got a Poke 2 and so far I quite like it. The Poke 2 is thinner, lighter and more accessible than my Kindle Paperwhite - though the experience of using an Android tablet versus a dedicated ereader is taking a bit of time to get use to. Thanks! |

Not sure about the NeoReader, but remember that's it's an Android device so you can install other reading apps on it without any issues.
Personally I use KoReader (because I used to use Kobos/it's awesome) and it comes with export options - and options for literally everything else you could want. I also love how I can set a corner hold to bring up the book cover and the Poke 2's invisible screensaver option to get the cover displayed when I put it to sleep. |

I had a convo with someone somewhere else that said Kobo is the only one who shows the currently read book as a screensaver on their devices, and that shocked me tbh. |

I ended up buying two third party cases.
This one, from Aliexpress was ordered first, arrived second and is barely adequate. It is very cheap-looking unlined PU leather, and offers very minimal protection. It's only positive is that it is very slim. This one, from Taobao was ordered second but (due to being ordered through an agent, as part of a larger order) arrived first. It has a solid synthetic fabric outer, a plush microfiber inner, and feels like it has some padding in between. It's only downside is that it's a tad bulky (about 23mm thick with Poke2 inside). I'll probably use the latter when I need to put my Poke2 into a backpack or similar, and otherwise carry it unprotected (e.g. in a jacket pocket). |

![]() When I'm using my ereader at home, I by far prefer to use it without a case, so a permanently-attached stick-on case is utterly useless for me. |

With the current lockdown I haven't had to take mine out anywhere yet, but I have a couple of pouch cases from my sadly broken Kobo Glo. These are a little baggy but I'm planning on adding some extra padding on the inside so they'll be perfect.
Reuse and refurb, usually a better way to go ![]() |

spontaneous screen cracking?
Hey, I bought a Poke2 in June and was really excited about the small size and the ability to read out of multiple apps like kobo, amazon, libby, and hoopla - rather than have to actively manage my ebook library through calibre.
however - the screen seems to have spontaneously cracked on the lower center of the reader! it was sitting in the Boox-manufactured case on a horizontal surface and is now cracked. no impact, no drops. has this happened to anyone else? |

I’m seriously considering buying this to use for browsing the internet. So much of my reading is online forums such as this and newspaper sites.
Is it really as good at this as claimed? Does anyone here use it for browsing? Thanks ![]() Last edited by Pjama; 09-02-2020 at 01:40 PM. Reason: Emoji fail |

It is good to read books. It is bad for internet navigation. Any eInk reader is really, but really bad for web.

Thanks, that’s disappointing, I was hoping the hype about the browser being great was true. Trying to save my eyes but I’ll have to keep using my backlit tablet for now.

This is very possible with the Chinese EInk Android tablets (Boox, Likebook) - they have other options for display control. I use a Boox Poke Pro as a glare-free navigation display and the map tracking is fluid. Even YouTube videos can be viewed (if necessary). |

the real challenges I've found are where greyscale just doesn't work great. For example, I'm using the Hoopla app to read books from my library and it doesn't render correctly at all - there's a search bar that is clearly obvious on my iPhone (color), but on the Poke2 I can't see it at all - I just tap where I believe it is located in order to search. I would think that for many internet pages it could be the same kind of tricky.
