@JimmXinu: proceed prevents use from multiple threads, in that, the function to proceed is always called on the main thread. It does not however prevent re-entrant use, which is what I suspect is happening there.

Released version 4.99.13 with the following changes:

1) Display highlights per chapter in the viewer highlights panel. Note
this will only work for newly created highlights. Highlights from
previous betas will be displayed under an "Unknown" chapter

2) Made the selection adjust handles smaller

3) Updated the version of Qt calibre comes with to 5.15 which is
supposed to fix the bug under macOS with dragging multiple items.
Hopefully this wont cause any problems on older systems.

4) Made the display of notes in the viewer highlights panel a bit nicer

5) Added support for highlighting in right-to-left and vertical text
books

6) Fix an issue with plugins that use multiprocessing

7) Fix the bug reported with the previous beta where clicking on some
highlights in the highlights panel could cause errors


This is hopefully the last beta before calibre 5, so I encourage
everyone to install it.

Good. I was mainly running the beta's but would occasionally go back to the release. I don't have as much choice now.

The borders for the notes window look nicer in the main viewer compared to the server viewer

Use chrome and they will look nice in the server viewer as well.

I do not think that the Edit notes clickable text should be there when there is already Edit button at the bottom. It looks a little confusing.
My suggestion: Just edit notes with the Edit button at the bottom.

Nevermind, it looks good on the latest Firefox.

Just my personal preference but I do not like the color of the borders of the notes window in light scheme, would prefer a darker color like black or grey.

1. Please also show a warning before deleting a custom style for the notes.

Regression in 4.99.13: In calibre 4.99.12 I could enter full screen in the server viewer from the controls, this is no longer possible 4.99.13. Please add it again because it was very useful.

I got this error too. In my case, the steps to reproduce on Viewer:

1) Created a custom style
2) Used it
3) Selected the custom style and pressed 'Remove style'. Then, clicked 'Cancel'.
4) It didn't work. Now the style is there, but when I click it, there is no option to remove it
5) When I click now to create a new style, it gives me the error above

Update: after using another highlight style, now the 'deleted' highlight is gone, and I get no error.
