Best eInk device for Moon+ Reader?
Currently, most of my reading is split between my KO3 and Galaxy S9 phone using the Moon+ Reader app. Although the Kindle is a terrific piece of hardware, I really enjoy the features on Moon+ Reader. Scrolling, pages/% left in chapter, and Calibre support are some of the features I wish existed on the Kindle.
I’ve seen some rave reviews for the Onyx Boox Poke 2 recently and that got me thinking, could an Android based eInk device with Moon+ Reader installed give me the best of both worlds? Seems A2 or X mode would be fast enough to support scrolling instead of page turns with minimal ghosting. Does anyone have experience using Moon+ Reader or a similar app on an eInk device? Is it worth selling my Kindle to buy an Onyx device or should I stay put? FYI, I’m not locked into Amazon’s ecosystem and convert all my books through Calibre. I’m using Kindle purely for the hardware. Thanks. |

Moo+ Reader is not worth using. It doesn't resect the CSS. It's really not all that good.
Besides, if you did buy an Onyx Reader, there would be no reason not to use the Reading app(s) alread on the Onyx and no need for Moon+. If you do want a different Reader, I suggest Kobo or Pocketbook. |

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm a big fan of Moon+. It may not follow all the rules but then neither do I and I'm a pretty good reader.

Moon+ runs fine on an Onyx. I have a Poke pro and and a Nova pro. A lot of people run it, and it's their preference. Personally I use Alreader. However, you would probably want to turn off animation features. Not really any good on e-ink, and unecessary. Ask on the Onyx sub-forum before you take the plunge. Also consider a Boyue/Likebook.

1 big thing I miss on kindle that moon reader had, the time each day I spent reading a book.
