Calibre doesn't see the storage card...
... in my Kindle.
I have a 2 GB storage card in my Kindle 1, and when I was using Calibre last night from home, it saw the card just fine and let me move converted items to it without any problem. Today I took my Kindle to work, attached it to USB, booted up Calibre and when I tried to move a converted file to my storage card I got this message: **ValueError**: The reader has no storage card connected. I'm rather at a loss. When I right click the ebook it does offer me the option to 'send to storage card' but it is not showing in the upper panel next to the icon for my Kindle.**Traceback**: Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\device.pyo", line 20, in run File "calibre\gui2\device.pyo", line 142, in _upload_books File "calibre\devices\usbms\driver.pyo", line 71, in upload_books ValueError: The reader has no storage card connected. Any suggestions? Thank you! |

Here at work I have network drives connected. I thought that the card was part of the Kindle drive in Windows Explorer and didn't know it showed up as a separate drive. I had too dang many drives for it to show up. Once I disconnected one of the network drives.. POP! It appeared! And immediately showed up in Calibre. Thank you for your help...and for a marvelous program! |

I am having the same problem he was having but apparently Calibre sees the card? I can access the Card as a drive and even use whatever is already on it in the 700. Here is what I get from the debug code:
Code:

Formatted card. reads now
edit: I believe it has something to do with what was on the card already. When I put the files that were previously on the card back on it and disconnect and try to reconnect it no longer sees the card again. This is the card I use for my phone, I was just testing it out. update:
New card. Format it and calibre sees it just fine. I put one book over and disconnect the reader and then reconnect it. Calibre no longer acknowledges the card. Windows, the ebook library and the reader have no problems with the card. |

Hmm odd, the only other thing I can think of is a permissions issue
