Same here. Having 6,000+ books on my Kobo Forma & Aura ONE LE, using genre for my collections I am able to pare the list down to 2 pages (about 15-20 total collections).

Did you restart the device? I have no idea when I lost that, but, putting it back in now, I had to restart the device to see it. And screenshots of what screen showed the wrong format? The only place I can think of for the date is the published date on the details screen for a book. And of course, the first book I chose had the date "06/06/2020"

Yes, I did restart it, but the real cause of the problem turned out to be the result of a simultaneous failure of both neurons, sorry. I've just realised that the date and time I was seeing in screenshots attached here were added by the board software, not Kobo. Time for bed, clearly.

The new slider totally sucks. I have trouble seeing all my books. I wish they would change it back!

How? It has back and forward arrows like before. Swiping up/down/left/right all work the same. You can also use the slider to move between pages as needed. The number of books per page hasn't change. Neither have the details shown.

This isn't a criticism, it's a serious question to try to understand what is going wrong for you. Beyond the page number being remove, and the associated go-to-page not being available, you should still be able to navigate through the list and see all the books. I haven't noticed any lack in visibility of my books. But, maybe I just haven't done the thing that shows the problem. With some details, we might be able to work out what is happening and suggest how to solve it, or have the information needed to report the problem to Kobo to fix.

Ok, it's a new way to explore the books. But: you can sort them and filter them. You can tap at the arrows on top and bottom of the slider. You can swipe to left/right to turn the library's pages. And (on my Forma, maybe also on other readers?) if I tap on the slider button and move it to another position and hold it at this point I get an overlay saying "page X of Y".

Yes, that large overlay box is on other readers too - definitely the Libra, Clara and Aura H2O2, I think others as well.

You never could see all your books in one go. What about the slider is a problem? You slide and see page x of y and you you have the arrows to move up/down by page, I find the slider actually easier to use. The only thing I would like that's not there with the slider is for when you stop sliding and keep pressing for long enough that the visible list of books changes to where you are with the slider.

The page number overlay when using the slider is not unique to any Kobo model. It's part of the firmware for any Kobo running it.

Tiny? I have quite fat fingers and can easily press the up and down arrows, moving the list one page at a time. Or, drag the slider, note the page it stops on (the box that says "page x of y" is VERY prominent) and then use the arrow keys for page-by-page navigation.
