Erm...it's strange but I'd PM the personnel in-charge for the post (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=782) on 7 Aug, but I haven't received any replies for the past 2 weeks...I'm not sure if my PMs are getting over to their inbox...(though if I can see the message in my outbox, I should be able to assume that it has been sent out?) Is it due to some problem over at my side?

Umm guys. I am on FW 5.13.1. I followed ilovejedd's method and did the stuff with diags. But after rebooting it seems to be bricked. It is stuck on 'Repair Needed' message showing 'Battery Invalid: -22', even though it was working fine earlier. I searched online but the Kindle won't show up in the explorer on my PC. What to do?

There haven't been success reports from 5.13.1 users, you are the first one to try.
Have you checked md5 of both firmware files? Have you rebooted in diags successfully?
Have you copied the factory firmware intact? Safely disconnect from PC?
What's going on now if you long press the power button?

I've had several requests for 5.13.1 and they've all been fine thus far.

In this case, battery was actually loose. @iamMG opened up his PW4 and pressed down on the battery-motherboard terminal and it works now.

Is there any way to block kindle updates from DNS? I have a custom DNS for all the devices in my house, you can block the URL that kindle use to update? And what is that URL if you can? Thanks.
