Well if smugglepunk is merely stories about smugglers in the 19th century, I can recommend a good example, Jim Davis, by John Masefield, written in 1911. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't upload it because he passed away in 1967. I think I downloaded it from Project Gutenberg but their server is being cranky at the moment; here's the link to his books on PG from the Wikipedia page: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/author/582 There are also books by him on Faded Page; a lot of his stuff is poetry.

And now that William Gibson served as a buffer between a Nobel Prize winner and this guy:

The Crystal Shard by R.A. Salvatore is $1.99 at Amazon US.

I've never hopped on the Salvatore band wagon. What I have read from him (the first third of Canticle) was just awful. But hey, who am I to judge?

The synopsis is written as if this is the middle of a story. But like Star Wars, this book was the first released, even if afterward it was labelled episode IV.

It was also originally written as a stand-alone, until the popularity of the book justified sequels and prequels.

Although I bought some of his books 10 or so years ago for my Sony 500, I never could get into him.

Time now, I imagine, to simply delete them all from calibre.
