My library is completely backed up via Calibre on Dropbox.

I rarely open Calibre anymore as I have enough books for the foreseeable future. I do use the Android app Calibre Sync to browse my Calibre library on my phone. I'm now in the position for an EReader. What I would like to buy (if it exists) is: * An EReader that can "receive" an ePUB file from my phone Does anything like this exist? I know I could get a Kindle and send it to my Kindle email, but I'm really looking to not go through Amazon if at all possible. Thanks! |

Kobo Forma has integrated Dropbox; PocketBook InkPad 3(and 3 Pro) and Touch HD also have Dropbox pre-installed, plus "Send to PocketBook" which works like Send-to-Kindle apparently although I haven't used that feature yet.

You can connect an eReader USB port to a Phone USB port with a USB2Go host connector (under €5) and if you have a filemanager, you can copy to the eReader (so called Sideload) just like on a PC.

According to what I found via a Google search back whenever I was considering this, Google Play intentionally makes the book files difficult, if not impossible to find in order to discourage copying. Maybe some other bookstores are better for this? |

Pocketbook has a function send to Pocketbook that works like send to Kindle. You send the file with email to Your Pocketbook, it accepts also ACSM Adobe DRM files if You set Your ADE account.

On Kobo readers, for example, you can install KOReader and make it a SSH server. Then, you can sftp into the reader from your phone and transfer whatever data you like.

PocketBook also provides a DropBox app. (Never tried it, so I don't know how it works, sorry.) You can also move books to your PocketBook Cloud (via your browser) and access them via WiFi on your PocketBook device — these can come from any source and will sync between your phone and PocketBook eReader. (There are storage limitations, I think 5 GB.) Last edited by rcentros; 08-21-2020 at 04:19 PM. |

On the Android ereaders that we can install apps thereon, we can install some app (reader, file manager etc.) with wi-fi transfer capability and transfer ebooks between our phone/tablet and ereader over an existing network (using web-browser on our phone).

On quite a few ereaders we should be able to simply use its web-browser and transfer the files over wi-fi using any app (reader, file manager etc.) with wi-fi transfer capability installed on our phone/tablet. If we want to be independent from any wi-fi network (at home, caffe bars etc.) we can use some cheaper wi-fi memory stick, dongle, HDD enclosure etc. that will create its own wi-fi network. https://www.colourmylearning.com/201...-flash-drives/ If our wi-fi memory stick, dongle, HDD enclosure etc. has also got a host-usb connector we can then attach any older or newer ereader to it using usb cable and then wirelessly transfer ebooks from phone/tablet into ereader (using dedicated android/ios app), as I would e.g. transfer ebooks wirelessly to my Kindle DX plugged into my wi-fi-HDD-enclosure using usb cable, even though Kindle DX has got no wi-fi capability (just 3G, now rendered useless). On some Android ereaders we should be able to transfer ebooks wirelessly even without an existing wi-fi network, as we would transfer the files between android/ios phones/tablets, by using cross-platform apps for wireless file sharing between iOS/Android/PC/Mac devices, like AirDroid, SHAREit, Zapya, Xender etc. because some of them don't even need existing wifi network (wireless access point) 'cause they create their own direct wifi connection (Airdrop app) i.e. something similar to using IR (Infrared transfer) or Bluetooth file transfer between two paired devices but using wi-fi instead. https://techwiser.com/best-airdrop-alternatives/ Also, as already mentioned we can transfer ebooks wirelessly between devices using Koreader app on the same network (Zsync transport plugin) https://github.com/koreader/koreader...sync-transport Last edited by Marinolino; 08-22-2020 at 08:32 AM. |
